alfie not far from Sapiston at all :) Small world - do you remember much of Bury? It is a pleasant town and the Abbey Gardens are worth a visit. Nearly bought a house in Sapiston - it ticked lots of boxes but it just didn't grab us and it was OIEO £250K

Farm wasn't part of the Euston estate was it? Didn't know about the Dad's Army link until you mentioned it :D I doubt much has changed since filming! Yes and RAF/USAF still nearby too ;). Many years ago we viewed a property in the area that was at the end of the runway and had a pig farm on the other side. Funnily enough neither were mentioned on the details (this was before the days of the internet)

Hope all goes well for you tomorrow and you give Mr BUHA (:mad::mad:) a good run for his money - he deserves it

Well natural resource guy came, hubby met him, and said what a nice guy... as he said when someone phones and says there is a 'pig farm' and the muck is in the stream, he got to investigate, as he said it could be a farm with 500 pigs and the farmer is just pushing the slurry into the stream...all we done is put some sheets up against the fence, to 'try' and stop anything going into the stream, and hubby told him we bought an electric fence, but haven't put it up yet, and the guy said that's fine as we have 'acted' , he did turn round and said, if he had walked down our lane and seen it, he wouldn't have batted an eyelid..

Alfie.... cant wait to hear what happens tomorrow.. keep us updated... and 'keep your cool' and make sure you put across your vunrability etc... ( ok act like a wimpy woman) and how the LL and agent have been fobbing your off for years ( que smutty remarks lol)

Mine too LIR, they went for a very muddy & wet walk at Ashmore Forest this morning and as we were then heading down to visit my parents in the nursing home there was no time to shower them off :o The youngest (SWD) is off to be neutered tomorrow, bless her :A

I'm also a fan of the cream/biscuit (or should that be biscwit?) wood burners btw, but we inherited a black beast here - a Coalbrookdale Darby.....all 16kw of it ;) - but I hadn't contemplated the lighter coloured ones discolouring!

CTC - another vote for the Johnny Depp pics on the wardrobes here :D

Rummer - do hope you had a peaceful - and dry - visit to the garden and got a chance to recharge your batteries :)

BD - my fave was also the Morso, but looks like you've already opted for it ;)

Money - off the top of my head I think we're up to around £70k here......and still have timber DG (front elevation only, but still 7-9 windows :(), 60 sq m of solid wood flooring and several cast iron rads plus more plastering (ceilings which DH would rather not tackle!) and decorating to fund :o

Ho hum, onwards and upwards.......just need to recoup it when we sell this time, lol!
    Mortgage-free for fourteen years!

I'm not saying what we've spent.:( we could buy a modest welsh small holding)

And we still haven't got a finished room, rofl. You have to laugh or you'd go potty. Hmm. Maybe its too late.

We have some damage now from water. Some damps finally got us, and my flashing needs attention. Funny it should through the worst weather then seem to go now.

Hold ups on the electrics front ( always so me thing, huh).

Ahh well, he is very dainty on his walks (unless he sees something small and furry), doesn't like puddles or the mud much. And this time of year he only ventures out in his fleece coat as he gets cold otherwise. I'll try and remember to post a photo so you can see how smart he looks :D

Good news CTC re your natural resource chappie.
    Coalbrookdale Darby....all 16kw of it
Wow phoebe1989seb very impressive - has yours got arched windows or oblong windows?

ooooo dear.... radiators???? I know we need them, BUT they will spoil my image I want the rooms to look like... or do we need them down stairs????

For anyone doing a lot of renovations or work themselves, get a B&Q TRADE card... the stonemason give us his, ( he has only ever used it once) and the concrete lintels were £9.98 each BUT at the trade counter with the card, they were only £8.30 so a BIG saving..
