I'm feeling so weary. The weather doesn't help. I just can't wait for these builders to be gone and to be able to take stock and reclaim our lives a bit. It seems like 2013 fell into a black hole from the middle of the year onwards and there's been very little of doing waht we moved here for.

    Feeling rather downbeat today.... :(

    Rozee - It's the mid-winter & I keep falling asleep. It's a shut down time.

Must admit I'm so hacked off with yet another Winter in the caravan I can't really think ahead at all.

Been hailing on & off all day.

I agree with choille, it's the time of year. For you, it's the end of a hard road too, but it's mostly behind you now. :)

I couldn't get motivated today, though I spent a couple of hours doing plant maintenance. I was really avoiding looking on t'internet for a present for a 10 year old boy, which wouldn't tax his Mum too much....:rotfl:

That took a couple of hours as well! :(

Have you got all the roof on now? Or still waiting for the guys?

And yes it is mid-winter; really cannot be @@rsed to get up in the morning but I have to.....

Anyway, less than a week to the solstice and by Epiphany the days will start getting longer.:)

Big dog has cancer. :(. Oh dear. Three in a year looks like it might be.m. The insurers are making a fuss because she is registered to the parent who doesn't live here, and so they are saying they shouldn't have to pay, even though the policy is held here.

The weather isn't on for finishing the roof & we need cladding on at bits before that can happen at the back. The saw miller has cut his thumb off & hasn't been able to do the cladding.

I've rustled up someone who will be able to go & do it, but don't know when as they're dealing with wind blown trees. The roovers won't be able to do owt in this weather that's why I was so hacked off when they were working indoors elsewhere in the Summer.....still hacked off at that.

I always celebrate mid winter solstice rather than Christmas - means more to me as a celebration than all the tinsel & consumer orgy stuff.

    LIR - So sorry.

Insurers would try & diddle their own Granny if they could.

Sure there should be a way around it if the policy is paid? Surely?

Is it inopereable or is there a chance of treatment? I know with fat cat it wasn't feasible - was too aggressive.

Hopefully the last winter in the caravan for you and days should be getting longer in a week? Choille day in January is getting closer

But we also find ourselves snoozing more, especially as we've had a tough week buying, then reorganising and trying to get the house even remotely ready for toddler invasion...and failing so far :o

For once we had some cheap buys including a belgium wool Luristan rug for £12 that's now sat in front of the log burner and looking really good :).

Its very aggressive, and we don't know whether its contained in a lump or spread.

I have a gut feeling its spread, but I am a pessimist. I have no basis for the idea its spread other than......I'm a pessimist. I won't know until they go in, and maybe not then, depending on where a secondary is I think.

Also, she is old. Life expectancy is 6-8. She is rising eight. She is bouncy and healthy but has a degenerative issue with her spine, I know this is her last Christmas either way.

I just dunno what to do because I am still thinking about the horses and need to get my backside in gear and think about big dog not my emotions, :o

It's rained for months & months - it's so wet. Even the short days seem even shorter coz I'm doing only the necessary animal stuff outdoors so it's sat crunched up in the caravan all day - not healthy for body or sole.

What's the rug? I'm off to google...........
