I'm loving your Ty Bach, CTC. My Welsh was coming on really nicely, but it has taken a total backseat over the Summer. Am hoping to brush up once the kids start school and then restart classes, my third year, in October. The good thing about having young kids is that they force you to practice when you read their school books with them. Son is way ahead of me now thoug. I can read his books with him, but don't understand everything that I'm reading. Fortunately, there will be a reprise with the twins who start Parc Natur (pre-school) next week (YAY!) and I will not doubt be reading Sali Mali yn y ty once again very soon.
Son's arm is wired following surgery yesterday and, hopefully, he'll be home later. I'm so glad my mum was here, as OH has been with him in the hospital for the last two night and I've been stranded on the hill, as we have no other vehicle. I'm feeling less guilty now I know he's on the mend
Tomorrow, I go off for a few days to check on the rental properties. The kids are stayiong at their other grandma and granddad's house whilst I have two or maybe three nights child free in Yorkshire and OH stays here in case the builders have any issues. We now have renewable energies in, tiles on the extension roof, first fix electrics and plumbing.... There's a lot going on at the moment.
Thanks for all your well wishes. People have been very sweet about the accident. Our neighbour called round this morning with a loaf of freshly baked bread and cherry toms as he knows we can't get very far without a car - my next purchase is a bike.
I'm hoping there are some strawb plants in sheffield so I can reap for CTC and myself.....0 -
So glad to hear DS is coming along well, rozee. :j
You certainly are being kept busy.
Woke up to thick fog this morning which is now slowly burning off. It's getting very autumnal.0 -

I had the fan on the car windscreen this morning, that always seems a landmark. Still. Nice day today.

Ok, so my real, sort of green sort of blue sort of grey paint.....I have some metal doors that need painting.
I don't want sensible and sinister black next to my beautiful shadowy dramatic walls. But....copper (my natural preference) might be too much for even for me road side. What do you think peeps.. I know this is style more than small holding...but..

Mmmm, I'm not sure what to suggest LIR, but we did get the Copper Hammerite for some met posts we had to have made by the local blacksmith (as standard ones didn't come in a large enough size for our huge pergola posts) and I was suprised by a) how un-copper like it was and b) how subtle it actually looks.......but then we weren't painting a large area as you intend to
I am always disappointed though by how uninspiring these sorts of paint are - surely not everyone wants to paint their metal work in basic primary-type colours or else black/silver etc?Mortgage-free for fourteen years!

Hmm, subtle in which direction? Browny? Tan? Gold? Not sure now. I like the idea of the hammered finish too:o
The smooth finish has lots more shades, even ones closer to the paint colour we have chosen. Some of the doors are in brick buildings, and I think a near miss of colour would look worse than a contrast...and its handy to be able to see doors.....:D0 -

I'd be worried that I'd do an Isodora Duncan in the night _pale_
You have my sympathies with the allergies. They're a complete bind. I'm currently trying to work out if I have a slight summer cold/cough, the chest infection is rearing it's ugly head again or it's an allergy to something as yet unknown in cause.lostinrates wrote: »Ok, so my real, sort of green sort of blue sort of grey paint.....I have some metal doors that need painting.

Why don't you mix them? Could you do tests on the inside if it isn't really seen? If so, you could always paint over the tests with a solid darker colour & use the mix you want on the outside. All Hammerite Hammered colours can be intermixed though the pattern may be affected.
All Hammerite Smooth colours can be intermixed except for Smooth Gold, Silver and Copper.
All Hammerite Satin colours can be intermixed.
Do not mix Hammerite Satin with any other Hammerite finish.
Do not intermix Hammerite Hammered, Smooth or Satin finishes.

LIR - The copper looks more beige that owt & rather tired looking.
The blue looks great, well compared to the other colours.
So midgied & wet here. Out doors a no go.
Rummer the brush is a broom & you must be doing something right that the buddlieh flowered. I'm really pleased that they are of use as there is always excess self seeders & I love taking cuttings.0
