How/Who to report DSS incompetence?

My partner recently had sanctions placed on her due to her failure to 'look for work' / 'applying for work', due to the fact that she hadn't filled in her es/4 (es40), basically her diary sheet you need to take in when you sign on. She didn't fill the form in, because she didn't have one. She requested one at last sign on, but was told none were available.

She did however, fill in her doleskool diary with all the data required, but this is not required at sign in time.

So she was sanctioned because of this.

She was called in for interview the next day, with some hardship forms, and another form; told money was stopped.

Now I claim for my partner, as a joint claim, so I cannot see why my money is stopped, due to this?

When in the dole, my partner was taking ages, as she signs on on a different floor, so I went to investigate, my partner was eventually signed on, then referred to another person, that caused this, I tried to ask why am I losing my benefits, when it is not me being sanctioned? But aggresively removed from the place! I didn't raise my voice, I wasn't nasty. Heyho!

So filled all the forms as requested, most of the information received and contradicts what we have been told, is incorrect, in the interview given on the 7th.

Hey ho! Today I receive T E N, yes TEN, 10, one zero, letters from the dss, each one contradicting the other. So, in total; useless.

Which letter precesses the last? Which is current?

You state I won't be paid, my mortgage interest wont be paid, but then you say you will? You say I will be paid £60 a week, then £100, then £120 a week???

Who to complain to regarding this incompetence, apart from my local MP, that stated '!!!! off, stop hasseling me', therefore cannot spell, and has no idea? or IDS?

Yes really, my local MP said that.

I think you need to take an anger management course. Oh, and some spelling lessons wouldn't go amiss ;)

You did not say that they were all dated the same day you said you received them the same day - people like you need to get real I was trying to help - but since you have insulted me I and many others will now not bother.

Oh DSS no longer exist as a name - it is now the Department for work and Pensions and has been that name for some time (DWP) for short.

Yes, I thought this was funny. An accusation of incompetence might have a bit more weight if one got the name of the organisation correct instead of using a name 12 years out of date. ;)

Now 7 posts in, and not one genuine response, but rather arguing spelling, and the use of DSS, which everyone can understand, versus DWP, which relates to various things, not specifically what I am writing about.

I am talking about social security. NOT Work and Pensions.

Come off it, why didn't she just write down what she did or explain her jobsearch verbally?

It is a 'joint' claim hence your money stops too.

I think this answers your question...
It screams milking the system which means if you are just going through the motions of course your benefits will not be paid.

She obtained the diary, on signing on day, and explained what jobs she had applied for, after the DWP/DSS refused to give her a diary to fill in, because they couldn't supply one.

Because they couldn't supply one before time; they put her on sanctions.

How is she 'milking the system', by not filling in a diary normally supplied by the DWP, but unavailable, but kept a copy, that was not required to be shown on signing on day, so the data is there, but DWP chooses to ignore the data?

Which part of the information did you choose to ignore, and post regardless, and ignoring the facts stated?

The issue is both of you obviously spending way too much intimate time together as is made obvious by your posts. Enjoy it while you can, austerity is hitting all of us.

Reading your posts on this thread somehow this doesn't seem very likely.

If you've been signing on for some months you should be familiar enough with the system, to realise a sanction would be the likely outcome here and taken the appropriate steps to avoid it.

If it's just your partner who's been sanctioned then your money will still be paid as long as you comply with what's been asked of you.

Perhaps the fact that she was already on a warning for signing late had something to do with it?

But social security is administered by the DWP do you not understand that.

If you cannot grasp that basics, how do you expect people to be able to help.

As for stoopid, talk about irony.

I would telephone the DWP JSA helpline and ask them what is happeneing with your joint claim as you have received 10, ten, one zero letters all on the same day from some department called the DSS that doesn't exist and you do not have any idea why or if your going to get any money and everyone is stoopid and can't spell.

They may be able to tell you what the current situation is.
