Looking a the T&Cs in the link provided by Sammy, it might be that the OP's forgetfulness about the date he should have returned the equipment has landed him in a very difficult position with the police.
If the facts of this are as stated (and it seems very odd for more than one reason), then it seems more likely that the police officer involved could have got themselves into a difficult position if the OP takes it further.
Assuming the OP signed similar T&Cs, I would have thought that returning the equipment before or on the due date would have been something that he ensured wouldn't slip his mind.

I've never found so many perfect people in one place. People who always read all the terms and conditions, never forget to make a payment, never make a mistake about a date and never, ever, use a word like 'scam' of 'swindle' without checking to ensure they are using the very strictest dictionary definition. :D

I doubt very, very much that the facts really are 'as stated'.

I tend to agree with you.

The Police officer came to our property before he visited me in work, he threatened to kick the door down
He must have left his big red key back at the station.

I find it strange the OP said they borrowed it from Morrisons and not that they had rented it. Am I the only one who found the word choice strange? And I assumed they meant rent as later they said they forgot the date it had to be returned by.

Is it possible that the policeman works at morrisons? Haven't there been threads in the past about police doing extra hours at stores and abusing their official police position in their 2nd job?

I find this part of the OP's tale particulary telling

...in our room i have product boxes such as an Apple Pro Monitor and Sonos Soundbar (which i am given to test as part of my job) he took the serial numbers down encase they where stolen...

The OP is a temporary warehouse worker, would this explain the second police visit in the evening?

    Was it on eBay?

Or pehaps it was this in the Terms and Conditions that you signed when you hired the machine:-

I'd be curious as to whether reporting it as stolen to the police would stand up as it's a civil matter...
Also, surely T&Cs that are that harsh and do not include an attempt to contact the customer first could be seen as abuse of the police in a civil matter.

Interesting extract from the OP's post.
Does the OP mean he takes stuff home to test as part of his job?

If the OP is, as SammytheSpammer says, a 'tempory warehouse worker' (and I can't see anywhere that it says this), it sounds odd that he would be testing stuff at home.

If part of his job doesn't include testing stuff at home, what are the boxes doing at his home?
