Caught out by Asda..!

Just received a letter today (13 June) fining me for parking longer than they allow. This letter dates back to the 3rd June, and inclues CCTV footage of my car entering and leaving the carpark.

Can I leave it, or pay it and be done?

The company is Smart Parking Ltd..

Why would you want to pay it?
It is not a fine, it is a speculative invoice.
If I sent you one, and I'll even include my vat number to make it look more official, would you pay it?

Have a look at the numerous threads on Private Parking Companies.

    And be reassured.

You are a customer of asda, go to the store manager and demand that they cancel this, show your receipt and tell him/her that you will never shop with asda again. Don't be fobbed off with the not their car park lie, it is as smart are their national provider of scammy parking, tell him that its owned by subsidiary of Walmart who owns asda, its on the land registry , tell them you've checked ;)

Also if you are disabled you are allowed adjustment in time under the Equality Act 2010, even if you don't have a blue badge.

Well the time in asda makes no difference at all, you could buy a TV , blueray player, an ipad and a dozen DVDs in that time. The point is even if you bought a newspaper only , you are still a customer end of !

I would complain if it was me

If you do ignore it be clear that isn't our advice and we know how to get these cancelled. You have about 3 weeks to decide to appeal - which is our advice, repeated ad infinitum on here on every thread.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Careful, you're so sharp you might cut yourself.

I asked which store, not which company.
