Utter tosh, moving to Max should not have stopped your service, the things some people are happy to believe from this muppet company.

Surely, if you try to have too high a speed on a line that will not support it you wil get problems.

If I am wrong then fair enough, but they warned me that I might have connection problems for a few days, I did and then they cleared up. No problems since and i get the line speed they said I would (sometimes even quicker!)

I would get onto TalkTalk and tell them they have 7 days to sort it all out or you will be leaving them. I would also demand a refund as they have yet to uphold their half of the contract and connect you to the net.QUOTE]

You can't just "leave them", it's not as simple as that! There's a contract length with most broadband providers and I'm not just going to cancel the direct debits for obvious reasons. I don't even want their broadband now, I've heard some horror stories about the connection dropping all the time in my area.

Thanks but don't worry, I'm onto it! I won't go into it futher because it's not relevant to the OP but I have them well and truly over a barrel so I'm not too worried anymore.

Word of advice, do NOT go to Tiscali. Been a customer for 4 years, up until Christmas we were happy. Not anymore. In the process of leaving, and what a saga that is.
Thank you to everyone who posts comps! :A

i have had a few bb suppliers over the yrs the worst one being talk talk (in my humble opinion) i am now with orange and apart from a few hiccups every now and then it seems ok. Before i was paying BT £39.50 a month and wanadoo/orange £14.99 a month i called and told them i wanted to switch to home call i think it was i then got offered orange wireless with free calls to all 01 and 02 numbers plus my bb for £9.99 a month since then ive cut down my bt to just my line rental of £11 a month saving £33.50 a month not bad ill give it a few months then do it again
    cheers cat
