But you don't! Nor do you need to subscribe to Sky. One off payment (for 5 years or until the next card change if after 5 years) of £25 for a Freesat from Sky card. If you don't have one, a Sky box free off Freecycle etc, dish maybe the same.0 -
For many, what you describe is more hassle than actually subscribing. It's fine for ex-Sky subscribers with all the equipment already in place, not so much for those who don't.Inner_Zone wrote: »But you don't! Nor do you need to subscribe to Sky. Yes you do if one wants them included at no extra cost.
Or the OP can go through the hassle of the buying a second hand box (the serial number of which may be in default with Sky) buying a FSFS card and the cost of a new dish too. And then the £12 a month to watch it.
Too much hassle, imo.0 -

Sky identify their boxes by both the box's serial number and the viewing card number. So if say, an eBay box seller's Sky account was in arrears when the seller of the box cancelled it, Sky won't reactivate the service for the new owner of the box.0 -
No Sky identify their boxes via the box serial number and Receiver ID - viewing card number has nothing to do with box identitySky identify their boxes by both the box's serial number and the viewing card number.
Absolute BS. Sky do no such thing but merely pass the debt to a collection agency. So if say, an eBay box seller's Sky account was in arrears when the seller of the box cancelled it, Sky won't reactivate the service for the new owner of the box.0
