Espn and top up tv

Hi i have recently been contacted by top up tv saying, espn will no longer be available through them after 31st July. This was ideal for me as only watch UFC or boxing,i did not need to subscribe to any provider. Now the only way to watch ESPN apparently is by subscribing to BT.If i do this the better deal comes with having TV,BROADBAND AND PHONE. It annoys me when we get cornered into paying for all this extra stuff when all i needed is the ESPN channel to watch UFC. If there is a way round this, or cheapest option please help.
Thanks.

Unless I am missing something here or you were somehow getting ESPN for free, TUTV is still currently a subscription TV service.

As for the rest go to the BTSport website it's all explained there.
  • I noticed that ESPN was to disappear from the SKY lineup but didn't know it would disappear from Top-Up TV too. :(

It was ideal for me because I could subscribe for one month every four years to watch the Copa America.

Innerzone yes you are correct but it is negligable cost compared to changing phone line, getting broadband and tv.

The channel will now be included in the BT Sport bundle.

As a Sky box user, if you don't have BT BB its £12 a month. Or £15 a month for HD.

There is no way round this, sorry. Both ESPN and Sky Sports are being removed from DTT. Mine already have been and are now being broadcast as internet television channels.

The new BT Sport channels will be available (up to now) via Sky or via BT Infinity (fibre). And if you can't get fibre, via BT's online app (PC, laptop etc).

    See my link above.

ESPN only was £11.99 on TUTV, if you have a Sky box with an FTV card it is £12.00 with BT Sport 1 and 2, two extra channels for 1p.

How is it two extra channels? The ESPN offer included channels which have now closed and so are not available with BT.

The only really distinct advantage from a money saving perspective is that BT has procured the rights to 38 live Premiership games which is more than ESPN offered.

Did it, what were they?. When I had a ESPN sub through TUTV all I got was ESPN!

Ah, we are at crossed purposes. I was comparing ESPN on satellite with BT Sports on satellite.

Why would anyone using a Sky box with a Free To Air card have Top Up TV for ESPN?
