I feel much better now it's out in the open and I was clearly worrying too much about it as it doesn't seem like it's been a major issue. It's a big birthday, I wouldn't usually spend £50 on my Dad's birthday present. But I did use Topcashback, so got some cashback for it, not much, but every penny counts!!busybumblebee wrote: »I've worked out that once my min payment goes out for my CC (which I forgot about last month!) then I'll still have £35 per week to last me for the rest of the month, which should be do-able. , one of those things you put off and put off, but in the end it's never as bad as you thought it was going to be

Morning diary
It's been a while since I've been to see you. Life has been very hectic over the last few weeks, I really do need a couple of extra days in my week to fit anything in. I've not had time to log in and update anything and that has definitely affected my spending habits!
I've not gone off the rails or anything and not bought any luxury items like clothes or anything. I even managed to get my shampoo to last me until next payday so I can now buy some more!! However, I have got lazy on the lunch making activity so I've ended up buying lunch at work more times than not. It soon adds up!! Plus, there are so many little extras and offers to tempt you to spend those precious pennies, the £3 for the lunch can sooooo easily turn into £5 and daily that sure soon adds up quickly.
I went into my OD again this month, mainly because I was not keeping a daily eye on either the spending or the bank balance, not hugely, but it'll mean that July/August pay is going to be even tighter as it works out to be a 5 week month, ouch!!
I've still not looked at paying in less to the joint account, so still need to discuss that, it would mean paying debts off 1 month early, possibly 2 months earlier than the current date. I must have that conversation! I've got a perfect excuse too as I've been reviewing all our bills and have got us a better deal on our energy and our mortgage where we'll be saving nearly £100 per month (although still going to pay the same amount and take the capital down)!!
The good news is that I've had some early birthday monies and since I last wrote here I've paid off an extra £435, so I've paid off 25% of my debts since the end of May.... massive yay!
I don't want to wish my life away, but I'm also thinking, the next payday amounts will mean that I drop into the next £0000 bracket and I'll owe £1??? instead of £2???
All in all, a mixed update but on the whole I'm still feeling good about things :-)1% challenge - /100%

Sounds like you're still doing well and keeping things under control. Seeing the overall drop a figure is exciting and hopefully should keep you motivated
