agree with you totally m pochec. Monteyineptitude, duntonh and taff are very rude and very negative.

2 posts and signed up today and you make that judgement about posters that have been here years or have thousands of helpful posts thanked by others.
No body asks for there opinions but they always have something to ay.

It is "nobody" and "their" and "say".
If you post on a discussion board you are doing so to get discussion and opinion. If you don't want opinion then don't post.
If in doubt always try to put a claim in, in the end its up to the Banks or FOS to decide anyway.

Where there is wrongdoing there should always be a complaint if you cannot get it resolved. However, to put in a complaint where there is no reason to is wrong. Whilst the banks are faceless organisations that do not hold their staff responsible, there are other firms where individuals have to pay for complaints made against them. So, fake or fraudulent complaints should not be encouraged.

Taff, have you ever mis-sold PPI and won. I would like to here about that.

    Personally, I've never missold PPI.

If you're asking, have I successfully complained about PPI and had redress, then yes, I have. A credit card with Virgin, a series of loans with Lloyds, a credit card with Lloyds, a catalogue account, and a store card.

Of course, my circumstances at the point of sale were not anyone elses circumstances, so asking me what were my reasons were will do you no good. Asking me why they were upheld will do you no good either, as I haven't been given reasons why.

Ok dunstonh your trying to be very clever, I would never ask for your opinions on any subject. If I listened to any of your opinion I and others would of given up and lose hope. There is always hope and a chance of reclaiming thousands. I think your employed by Lloyds TSB or other Banks to put off people. Stop being rude and be give positive comments for people who have or had PPI policies

Taff, its an individual thing, what worked for you doesn't mean it will work for others. My PPI complaint was upheld on a credit card by the FOS and now the bank is going to make me an offer. Some of the negative posts says you have to wait 18 month if gone to the FOS. This is not true, only if he bank rejects the FOS findings. Otherwise it could take a few weeks if the Bank agrees with the FOS. Take note Moneyineptitude....

Yes, I already knew that thank you hence the part about my reasons etc...

You told me you wanted to hear about it, so I told you. You obviously wanted me to have no experience myself so you could shoot down any advice I may give. Unfortunately, your tactic backfired somewhat.

I am not trying to be clever. I do not need to try.

I can see that you won't ask opinions as short posting history indicates you are not open to such things.

I am not employed by LloydsTSB or any other bank (it's your're by the way. Not your). I am not being rude either. I give straight answers to straight questions providing information and help for those that want it. I will not indulge in the automatic "banks are bad" style posts or create hope for people that have little or no hope. I won't stop them trying but will give them a reality check of their issues. Giving people false hope and encouraging fraudulent complaints is not helping anyone.

I thought they were only allowed to offset the ppi rebate against debt if you were in arrears. OP are you in arrears?

I see you work for Martin Lewis then, doubt that, he put you right on a few facts. I take his advice over any of yours. Your not qualified an legal expert so your put downs wont work with me.

Sava05 If that's what he claims he's lying, Martin just looked at this thread and said no-one here is on his team

@MartinWillmott I cant see anyone who says they're part of my team (or anyone who is).

PMFJI in here, but am I missing something.?

A person borrows £5000. He agreed to pay PPI,let's call that £2000, so he starts off a loan with owing £7000.

That person makes their monthly payments as promised reducing the amount owed.

They then put a claim in for a PPI refund. Their claim is upheld. They get back the £2000, the interest accrued due to the inflation of the original capital caused by the PPI, and they get 8% simple interest on all of that.

That money is then offset against the outstanding balance.
So now you are back in a position as if you never had PPI with the bonus of the 8%. Your debt is reduced, so effectively you have had the money back, just not in your hand.?

The o/p seem to want the money back in his hand and to leave the debt as it is.?

    Have I got this correct.?

No more than people posting misinformation makes me mad. Just as you have on another thread by telling someone to go to the FSCS despite the case being before January 2005.

    PP.

I've just realised this comment is aimed at me Mr Dunstonh.. Whilst your curious side took the time to investigate my previous posts to gain ammunition.. You should have carried on reading and would have also noticed at the time I was a newbie to the PPI scandal and this forum.
In actual fact if you would have read beyond my post I actually went and checked it out only to find out that I was incorrect yes I was Wrong and apologised for the mis information in the thread and have made it my business to check what I'm saying is correct in future.
Not all of us are so clued up you know and are learning as we go along from our own experience and from the users on the forum..

So your getting mad with people who don't know until they know !!!

I'm a quick learner though !! I don't like to be wrong to often but when I am I will openly admit it.. I respect everyone has different opinions and that they are free to post them and that posting on here invites forum users to do that and also provide correct information whether we like it or not. It's not people's opinions or knowledge of the guidelines and rules regarding ppi and redress that prompts me to post like I have done, but what I cannot stand are people be spoken to like they are crap on here when its not warranted.. Its effectively belittling and bullying.. It's called have a bit of respect for fellow forum users and that not everyone's as clued up as some of you are, but I'm making it my business to be so I don't make the same mistake twice of misinforming people asking for help. What I wouldn't do is get mad or shirty with new forum users who are confused and frustrated at the banks. I have my opinions and you have yours that's fine ..but if your gonna read up on me in future read the whole thing before you have a dig...
