    Afternoon All

Glad the post-ops are recovering, remember it takes time!

Beemuzed - Good to hear from you, glad to hear OH has finished his treatment, look after yourselves.
HH - Your work are amazing. How did they get so many duckheads in one place?
LW - Bet your cake was stunning.

Been busy here with both works, the weather had been really hot but it rained yesterday afternoon (when I was at a football festival with 11 boys!) and rained on and off till lunch time. It is sunny at the moment but there are big black clouds out there. Washing on airers and another load to go in later.

Had an accident with a breadknife on Sunday evening and am sporting a rather large bandage on my finger! It does seem to be healing but probably should have gone to A&E but it's too far away at a really scabby hospital so didn't go. A small tip - don't cut a bagel that is standing on its side and if you do, remove your fingers from the hole!!!

Hugs to all, take care. XX

Hi everyone, I do hope all who haven't been feeling so good are ok today.

OH and I have been to Bluewater today, clothes shopping for our hols. Ideally, I like to go when we have M & S vouchers, but we didn't have any this time. However, I've already thought about the things I'm going to put on eBay to contribute towards the cost of today's expenditure. Sometimes I think I have a bottomless pit of 'stuff' to sell.

We had lunch while we were there, a weekday set menu, which was good value.

Work tomorrow and Friday, which I don't have much enthusiasm for. But the two days soon pass, then I'm home again for five days

Oh dear, that sounds like the sort of thing I'd do! I hope it's not too sore. Tbh, I'd avoid A&E unless my hand was in danger of falling off, too.

    Afternoon all,

Car man still not here apparently on his way. Ooh just arrived.
molly glad your feeling a bit better
Beemuzed glad your hubby is doing ok, remember to look after yourself
Ladyshopper anaesthetic always affects me like that no matter how long I'm asleep, my cousins the same, I think it's quite common.

Have applied for another job today with the local University. Sounds good but I hate hate hate filling in the application forms. I'm trying to save as many of the personal statements as I can so I can cut and paste when appropriate.
All packed for my hols, lets hope the sun shines, I don't care as long its not pouring. Spag Bol for tea, DS 3 is just in the kitchen preparing it, it's his speciality. I know he won't starve at Uni:D

See, I'm the opposite normally. Other than the very 1st operation I had when I was 17 and I was sick after, the remaining 9 ops I have had after that (yes I have been unlucky enough to have that many!) I have felt great. Literally, on top of the world. So of course, I was expecting the same this time, but was totally different. Throwing up, hot sweats where they had to sponge me down, couldn't keep my eyes open etc. Thats why I'm not sure if its down to the length of time I was under, or if they used a different anaesthetic to what I normally have, or a combination of both.

Molly - hope you're feeling less sleepy now? I'm not, am battling to keep my eyes open as need to collect my DS from somewhere at 7.30pm, then I can give in and snooze!

Edited to add: Halight - sorry they cancelled your appointment, thats rubbish. Although on the brightside, at least they did actually phone to tell you before you had set off, and you didn't get all the way there and find out!

    Evening all!
One of those days here, was at the GP this morning, she has halved my dose of antidepressant as I have been nauseated for a few days now, have to put dose back up next week and try again, if still feeling sick she will change to another drug. Got home from there, and brother arrived for a hair cut and while he was here the crematorium phoned to say OHs memorial was in place. Have spent this afternoon with MIL, took her to see it with some flowers, DS arrived while we were there, so much crying and group hugs, she just kept saying he shouldn't be there, DS was completely distraught, I think seeing the plaque kind of makes it seem real or final for them! So, haven't been home long, came in to find DD in bed, she is rotten with the cold!
Oh well, off to find something cool to put on and to digest my dinner!
Hugs to recovering poorlies, or anyone who wants/needs one!
    RIP Iain

    Hi All
Just a quick one, Back home last night after being back in hoapital since Sunday:o
Pneumonia has nearly gone, but I still feel yeuch!
Had a ct scan and thay have found a small thing on my adrenal gland, so I have to go for another one. Don't know when though, so just chilling out today.

hilstep - take it easy please. Pneumonia can take a long time to get over and can recur if your course of antibiotics is not long enough/not the correct antibiotic etc and if you are run down from your illness, you really must try not to do too much too quickly.
I am still exhausted following my op on Friday. No idea why, all I can think of is that I was under anaesthetic for quite a long time (3 hours, think there were some complications/delays but no-one has actually told me :() and that its still working its way out of my system. I'm sleeping fine though, just struggling to keep my eyes open in the day!

Ladyshopper - I must have missed completely that you had an op last week. I hope you are recovering well? Anaesthetics always do that to me too, they say it takes a minimum of 72 hours to get out of your system and it's a lot longer with some people. Because I have had so many, I now have a yearly limit in case of causing liver damage :(

Jools, you are offering them to others and I think we all want to give you HUGE hugs.

I had a cyst on my neck removed time to face the music. Have a gory looking slashed neck. It's not too bad, just random stinging pain. Stitches come out Friday.

I didn't know general anaesthetic could cause liver damage? I actually need another one soon - they were supposed to take a wisdom tooth out at the same time as my neck but for unknown reasons (been told 3 different stories so far!) they didn't. At the moment have been told I need to wait 6 weeks between anaesthetics.
  • I think it's only certain anaesthetics and in some years, I have had over 20 operations. So it's a long term cumulative thing, rather than a couple of ops in one year.

Sorry I didn't mean to concern you :o
