I wouldn't touch it with a bargepole, but that's because someone I know is a builder who knows Harefield quite well, and this thread will have been of great interest to them.".....................I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

Pull out completely and lose my 'dream house'.Do you know the name of the owner/'builder's' company? Have you googled it? Does that show anything untoward?
(Bloke I knew down the pub, a 'builder', was recognised on 'Cowboy Builders' lol. Ooops!)
Jx2024 wins: *must start comping again!*0 -

I didn't expect such a vigorous debate, which is good. But I am actually getting quite nervous now that this is getting so much publicity it might get back to him.
Errata's comments in particular have unnerved me; if errata is passing all of this on to his building mate in Harefield I might have to delete all my posts as clearly if the vendor stumbled upon this he would be mortified. Well, he would be mortified that all of you lot have unanimously said don't buy it, despite me sticking up for him from my first hand observations!
So basically you are not hearing what you wanted or expected to hear.
Why bother starting the thread in the first place?0 -
This has been an intrigueing thread, not least because the original 3 bed semi seems have have detached itself from it's partner house.
I wondered this too. Where is the other half of the semi now?It is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.

I wondered that as I couldn't find the piece that Errata had quoted in post 92..........Mortgage-free for fourteen years!

Pull out completely and lose my 'dream house'.It would be interesting to hear what the council BR inspector had to say about the 8 inspections carried out during the conversion / building work.
It would also be interesting to hear what that window company said if OP rang them up to ask why they hadn't issued a FENSA certificate on this property, given that they 'have' installed the windows and advertise their windows as fully fensa compliant ...0 -
