Turkey is very unstable at the moment although I don't know how far those resorts are from trouble spots. By October it might have blown over, or it could be 10 times worse.

The first week in October hopefully....we are aware of the trouble over in Turkey but was hoping it would be sorted out by the time we went...something to watch.
    Thank you

I'm a huge fan of Turkey. I'll be there next week for my annual Turkish holiday but the resort I go to isn't really child friendly. I'm not overly concerned about any political trouble in the tourist spots. Ankara and Istanbul are a long way from there. It's a huge country. Just keep an eye on Foreign Office advice.

I've been to Olu Deniz. It's fun, pretty and busy. I'm sure others will come along who've visited both recently with better advice.

Have you found hotels in each of the places you like?
If not, that would be a good place to start.
Read the reviews (with a pinch of salt and an open mind :)) on TripAdvisor before you book.

Also, are flight prices & times to Bodrum and Dalaman similar?

I've noticed when looking at the TA Bodrum Peninsular forum, Bodrum's World of Wonders (WOW) seems to get a lot of good reviews.

We like the Bodrum Peninsular (we stay in Turgutreis) as you can get a dolmus to lots of little villages/resorts but we've never been to Olu Deniz.

The current unrest wouldn't put me off booking.
As maman says, the resorts you're looking at are a long way from Ankara & Istanbul.

Went to Olu Dinez last year. Was OK but hated the beach. If I went back to Turkey I'd go to Bodrum given the choice.

Ive been to Olu Denize several time most recently last summer with my niece

It lovely resort nice to get around pretty flat ( if you have pushchairs )
Beach isn't brilliant because its shingle but its still lovely and and very very pretty
Plenty to do night /day lots of shops ,restaurants bars its not a clubbing place more family /couples based

Ive stayed at the Belzeckiz Beach Club Sun City and Olu Denize Resort All of the of fab with the BB being the best ( imo) in terms of food and location and general layout

Sun city is great for kids though lots of entertainment and very very noisy so with 4 kids an ideal place

Also the Letoonia which is in Fethyie is also fabulous its a bit like an island cut off from the mainland ( only its not but thats what it feels like )

If i had to choose then it would be Letoonia for its location and facilities and then sun city but its great for kids

I'm not sure the OP is still planning a holiday to Turkey - was having a major meltdown about child safety in this later thread:

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4648961=

Bit of a strange poster, imho.

Had planned to go to France a couple of months ago, then on 6/6 had decided on Marrakech, then asked for advice about 2 hotels they were looking at in Olu Deniz and Bodrum on 11/6.

Then this thread started on the same day asking about Bodrum/Olu Deniz but not mentioning either of the 2 potential hotels they were looking at.
