Fingers crossed ref the job from me too! :D Keep us posted!

Well done on returning majority of the bought stuff, and catalogue stuff too. Nice doesn't always mean necessity! ;)

And :j to losing your ccard!! :rotfl: Best way to save money, huh?!

  • Money front ok, had a massive water bill I forgot about set up a payment plan which is good as the company was very reasonable, £20 a month for a £700 bill, :/. Selling stuff on eBay, pile of DVD's to sell online somewhere and rooting around for more stuff. Must update signature, going up, but at least I know the figure know.

Well bad news on work front, my bf no longer has a job, which means both of us are now unemployed, eek. I didn't get that job I went for but it was a good experience interview wise and I have definitely learnt from it. I have applied for lots more so fingers crossed I hear something.

Even though we have no money coming in and it is proving very hard to find a job and I feel like crying constantly (not sure why, think I just need to let it out), I feel quite calm and know we will be ok, we always are. Now might even be the time to really go for it and set up my/our own business like we have always talked about. First things first though is to get some money coming in, so I am still applying, even part time would be good.

Would have been easier to find a job where we used to live, near london, but am still so happy that we moved, it is calm, pretty, relaxing place to be. Feel so free down here, always felt like I was in a cage before. I am currently sitting in the office (spare room) looking out over the foggy sea, can't see the horizon, my favourite weather. don't get me wrong I love the sun but this weather feels real and like home. Sounds stupid when you write it down but anyone who grew up in Scotland probably knows what I mean!

Anyhoo, off for lunch and a walk

Back with my head in my hands. Just saw my signature and have gone red with shame, my debt is now over £5000, due to a couple of things but mainly laziness and greed.

I had a long over due LBM the other day, stress from work, money, debts, OH work, mix in some anxiety and depression and I was bound to break (again) soon. Anyway since then I feel much better, sometimes just realising how you are feeling helps a whole bunch. :) Had a lot of fun catching up on old diaries and new ones. I must make an effort to comment more, who knew shyness also applied online!

Since I have last been on here, I have started working, a temp job but full time and the wage is not awful for this part of the world. My partner lost his job, but is now freelancing, a slow process of getting money in and much more stressful. I really dislike my job but it has it's small perks (aside from a wage) so will make do while on the hunt for a new one.

So back on the debt tackling front:
    - Work out exactly how much I owe - not exact but roughly £5120 :O
    - Weekly budget (paid weekly) - next post
    - How to make more money plan - so far this involves eBay, ergh I don't get on well at all with eBay
    - How to cut money plan
    - Set a DFD - Jan 2015, this will mean paying off roughly £345 a month, need to account for interest on the evil V card.
    Total debt £5203.68 :doh:_pale_:whistle: Savings £15

  • Hi There, I just wanted to wish you good luck in your Journey....I know you can do it!!

PS: Have you thought about Working from home? I have no idea what it is that you do but if you can do it from home or remotely would that make it easier? Just a thought :)

Anyway...I've subscribed and will keep up with your Journey...
  • Thanks DreamerHelen, oh I wish I could work from home and ultimately that is my goal, but also working for myself. At the mo, I work 80% solo in an 'office', so I get a lot of time for [STRIKE]reading mse posts[/STRIKE] productive work. :p

So budget, as a temp this depends on how much I work, and obviously I can be let go with only a weeks notice
I should never get less than £260 a week (unless I am off sick like this week :()

    Home account £110
Food £25 - this will be really hard for us, but needs must.
    Bus £11
Spend £24 - this seems a lot but honestly I would rather have spare left over than dip into anything else. Probably should have more restraint!!
Savings £10 - split between an ISA and emergency pot for bills, unexpected train trips
Debts £80 - spilt between 2xcredit cards, water bill, and family loan.

Not too shabby, hopefully I have done my maths right, hate it when I 'spend' more than I have in my budgets.

Getting paid weekly has major downfalls but small perks, it helps keep my interest in paying things off, means I don't spend all my spending money in one blow and there are no dreaded evil 5 week months.

Only accounting for 4 weeks in a month that means I should be able to pay off £320 a month from wages towards debts, just need another £25.

    Payment plan:
Water bill £618.97. I pay £20 a month, no interest, so happy to keep doing this until other debts are cleared. Week 1 pay packet. Grr to the .97, may have to 'overpay' next month, need nice round figures!
HSB CC £2500. At credit limit. No interest at the mo, need to check when this expires, pay min off every month, around £60. Week 4 pay packet.
Vanq CC £1168.46. A ton of interest, priority no 1. I should be able to pay £240 a month off min.
    Week 1 (£80 - £20 water) £60
    Week 2 £80
    Week 3 £80
    Week 4 (£80 - HSB CC) = whatever is left/£20
    Bonus week 5 £80!
How awesome this would be to pay off by Christmas :D

Jes*s h*oly crud, I guess this is where it all smacks you in the face and you realise if only I didn't have to pay off debts, this money would be MINE!!!! One day!! :)

Oops forgot about the family loan, don't know how much I owe still, I think it is £800 or £900. Thankfully :A no rush on this one, but obviously I want to pay it all back as soon as I can. Once the evil V card is repaid will re-work payment plans.

  • Hello again and welcome back :D

:naughty: to the debts going up again, but hopefully this time you'll stay focussed and not let greed or laziness get the better of you ;)

Oh! I've got the same job as you then?! :rotfl:

Good luck to the weekly pay! To be honest, I always managed monthly better. Didn't like the bit where one week I had most of the money to myself, then the next week I'd none coz there was so much to pay out.
...and you realise if only I didn't have to pay off debts, this money would be MINE!!!! One day!! :)

Absolutely! That is your goal! It is hard sometimes, but it is soooo worth it, trust me! Now it's time to stay focussed! :D

  • Thanks HAW. I know tut tut me :( . It sure is a great 'job' isn't, though now I have admitted that, I definitely have no excuse!

I hate it when one week all the money I put in the home account goes back out again, oh well, need water and electric I guess ;)

Thanks, I am excited and am ready to push myself when the excitement fades and it gets hard, fully prepared over here!

Your signature HAW has reminded me of a few things:
Boots card point balance is around £50+
Sains gift card £20 - use this tonight, and £20 nectar points
    Thanks :)
