Erm Motivation?...where did you go?

Options
Well hello there...again, I did write a really long post last night but it seems to have disappeared, don't know why?

But I guess it gives me a second chance to start a diary without being all down and mopy like I was feeling last night.

This forum inspires me and is filled with lots of lovely people doing great with their challenges so I am going to do the same :/

I recently left full time employment to move from expensive Surrey to lovely Devon. I love it down here and couldn't be happier. Only problem is now to find a job and apparently the pressure of it all renders me quite inactive. Anyway need to grow a pair and get on with it :)

Today's plan is make a plan of action for all parts of life incl: money, work, fitness, home and hobbies. (Note to self: Must try to avoid a historical error of making a plan where I aim to go everything in the next two weeks and while I am at it miraculously have a spic and span clean home and lose 100lbs and do some volunteer work and solve the worlds pollution problem while I am at it!)

Off I go!!

    Hello :hello:

You do sound quite upbeat - maybe it's not a bad thing your last post disappeared!! ;)

Look forward to hearing about your goals (and unfortunately there are very few things that happen overnight :o)

    Good luck!! :D

  • Just so you know Hun, your post from last night is in the Debt Free Wannabe section rather than Debt Free Diaries, I just spotted it :p.

I love Devon and Cornwall, so jealous you get to be there full time!

Good luck in all your quests.

  • Thanks HeadAboveWater and PLMBL.

I don't get to use the computer that often and I hate typing on the ipad screen, need to find the charger to the keyboard so I can use that again!

Right well last week has gone past rather quickly! I kind of had a plan of action, had a very productive day after last post writing lists galoor :D then I got an email inviting me to an interview :T I am very excited but am finding it really hard to prepare for. I have been starting out with good intentions and letting myself get easily distracted. Still on it now as it is on Wednesday. I have to give a presentation too :o

Money wise, I need to check my balance online, easier said than done when a) I am scared too (ridiculous, I know) and b) I can not find that little lovely calculator thingy to enable me to do so. Must find it tomorrow, or I will have to go into the bank while in town. I know it is not going to be good as I have no income and have been ising the credit card way too much, still stupid spending will stop from now. Necessaties only, interview clothes are a must as at the moment I can only fit into leggings and two pairs of 'fat' jeans and baggy jumpers and t's

On the upside of that it is helping encourage me to be a lot more healthy diet and exercise wise. I now am weighing myself every day and logging it down. I am aiming to eat healthy instead of any crazy diets so it acts as a small reminder every day. I have an eating disorder that saw me put on over a stone in the month before we moved  so will slowly get control of myself again.

Slaps myself on the back of the head Gibbs style, (alert NCIS fan here) get on with the interview prep!!! It is a job I would absolutely love and never dreamed of getting that kind of opportunity down here so 100% effort is required!

    Take care x

Lists are good! I like lists :D

Hows the preparation going? Not long til Wednesday! You'll be grand :)

Hide your cc! If it's not with you when you're out and about, then you can't use it. If you see something you really want, then go back the next day and get it - but only if you still really want it!

Good luck with the healthy stuff and exercise :) (I don't do 'diets') Start a food diary. Helps you to see what you should/shouldn't be eating! I wouldn't be a fan of weighing myself every day. Once a week at the most, but I usually try for once every 3-4 weeks. I understand though if you have had problems before you want to keep a closer eye. Just try not to focus so much on the weight and more so on the healthy eating please :)

Have a happy Monday and hope your week gets off to a great start :D

  • Thanks Debtfreeoneday, we nearly moved into London! Would have been great for about 3 months, but plan was to move to Devon afterwards. Glad we just went for it and moved here :)

HAW, lists are a girls best friend! My OH knows I like lists but he asked me what I was listing the other day, and I said ' I am making a list of the lists I need to make'! Ha, forever a procrastinator. Though I have to have separate lists!

Boy am I craving the sweets at the mo, always want sugary treats when doing things I don't want to be doing like interview prep, I guess I should see it as a challenge. Yup that is what I will do, reward will be a G&T Weds night and if I get the job a picnic on the beach at the weekend (to include more G&T's:p) :D

Presentation is 95% done, just got to research the company now and think of questions, answers etc. going to finish the presentation off later on after a break (prob dinner) as I keep flicking through the slides and the word 'month' has started to look wierd, not spelt right or some sort of made up word :rotfl: you know it's time to do something else when that happens!

Good idea on the food diary HAW, i might just do that. I tend to over commit myself so taking things a week at a time at the mo, once I make it to next Sat I will start that. I would like to get that point where I can hop on the scales once a month, but at the mo I manage to convince myself I am a lot lighter than I am, even though the clothes are getting tighter  So once a day until I get a handle on myself. I am a binge eater and it started around 5 years ago, it wasn't too often but it started happening more frequently, the last year has been when ever I get the chance to secretly scoff my face, I do. Mainly when OH goes out, or lunch time. The local Tesco's must have taken a hit in the profit since I moved :rotfl:

Ah rubbish, just remembered I need to print off the presentation as well (just encase USB/laptop etc doesn't work). I was given a printer and cartridges the other day, very MSE, now I just need to set it up. Paper might be useful too ;)

    Off I trot .....

  • Am now sat here thinking my presentation sucks. I knew I did not want to the do the same old powerpoint presentation but now I don't know how to present it and my points are pants!

Also went for a walk this evening with OH, we normally walk along the beach but we decided on a country bum walk today, REALLY wish we hadn't. Both not have puffy eyes to challenge Rocky  i can't stop sneezing and blowing my nose (gross i know, sorry :D) trying to do my interview homework.

While I am having a major moan session, none of my clothes fit for the interview, and the ones I ordered do not look smart enough. Will teach me to buy a smart jacket for £19 (not in the sale) again!

So tonight and tomorrow I have to:
    - re-do presentation and speech
    - rehearse said presentation
    - get printer working (missing a cable) and print presentation
    - finish interview prep
    - go shopping for an outfit
    - do nails, scrub face (bout time it needs a wash :p)

Ha nothing like last minute, and I was feeling quite organised. Anyhoo, bit more work then relax and bed. Up early tomorrow I think. Am very excited tho, must stop planning how great it will be if I get the job!!! Naughty imagination!

Oh you know how to make things difficult for yourself, huh?! :p

Can you take the jacket back for a refund or credit note?

And don't ever stop dreaming! :)

  • So being organised meant I spent about £150 in town yesterday on clothes. But I am taking all but £40 worth back :j and sending everything I ordered on line back as it was all rubbish and the t-shirts that managed to find their way in were fine but I don't need them!

Interview was today and it went ok I think. i was well prepared, did not say as much as I wanted to and i forgot some points but oh well, it was good practice and will ask for feedback [STRIKE]when[/STRIKE] if I don't get it.

Felt really positive all day, it's amazing how a bad feeling can creep over you so quickly, which is making me want to eat, eat, eat!!! Luckily there is only one shop in this village and it closes at 7, will have to make do with a berry ryvita or two, yum.

On money news, apart from getting to return all the clothes, I have lost my credit card so no more spending on that! Yay. Though did get a text from Vanish (that's what I call the awful Vanqui card as that is what happens to your money when you have one! the % is stupid) saying I am now a Gold member and have bung another £750 on my credit limit. Yup thanks for that, like I will ever use it again! Not even sure where the card is! Nothing like moving and not knowing where anything is to remove the temptation :rotfl:
