M&S bra fittings are a joke. I went there and they told me I was a 38 FF so I tried some on and the woman was saying oh yes thats perfect etc etc. Anyway I bought some and went home. I wore them over the next few years and they never felt right right from the start. backs was riding up, straps falling off shoulders etc but as a big busted girl I thought this was something we had to put up with.

Until I went to a little underwear shop in Cardiff one day after work called Leia. Its in the St Davids Centre near Dorothy Perkins. There they fitted me properly and it turns out I am actually a 34H. I bought 1 to try and then went back a couple weeks later and bought some more! (On a money saving note, they give you a card and each time you spend £30 there they stamp it and once you have 9 stamps you can have any bra in the shop for free)

My boobs are now up where they should be, no riding up backs or falling off straps.

I cant help thinking that M&S didnt tell me I was a H cup as they dont actually stock them. Tell me Im a size they do so I will buy from them!

Haven't ever been 'fitted' in an M+S,but `I went into an independent store once and was told I was a 40a - they dont' make bras in that size...... and I hadbeen in a 38B.... and had lost weight!

So I went to John Lewis and was told I was a 36B, and there i have stayed ever since. Went to Rigby + Peller and they agreed. Spent £50 on a bra ther, but it WAS for my wedding!

I think you've hit the nail on the head there. M&S seem to want to sell a range of 'glamorous' bras in every colour for those women between A-D, very occasionally DD.

DD tried to be fitted there, but thankfully, no-one ever turned up and we went off in disgust!! Tried one of the Oxford St stores to be told that she would need to be properly fitted - er, we had asked the woman with 'bra-fitter' on her badge, but she handed us over to a junior and disappeared!

Hooray for Bravissimo, who actually are able to sell you something appropriate! :T

Don't get me started on M&S!

I wore a 36B from the age of 17 (:o I know, know...) until I met my current boyfriend at the age of 22 who told me I was wearing the wrong size bra the first time I got my kit off in front of him! :D

I experimented and now know I'm a 32E in some shops and 34DD in others. I went to M&S to buy a 32E bra and when I plonked it on the counter to pay the woman took one look at my boobs and practically screeched "Ooh, no, love! That's far too big for you!"

 It may LOOK too big but that's simply because I actually wear decent scaffolding so the puppies don't run wild!

I bought the damn thing anyway, was too shocked to do anything else!
Aiming to pay off mortgage by my 30th birthday... £39438 to go!

I find debenhams the best place to be fitted,my daughter is a 28e and is really difficult to find bras to fit, the lady in the store in Inverness explained to us how to fit a bra as they only had one to fit my daughter so we could go else where and be able to work out for ourselves if the bra fitted correctly

I went to M&S last year looking for underwear to go under my wedding dress. I'd picked up a body shaper things, and had taken them into the fitting room, but it didn't look right. It just squashed my boobs into one long sausage shaped boob!

Asked for advice and explained my wedding dress had thin straps so I needed something with either very thin straps or strapless.

The lady looked at me and said I was too fat for body shapers (I was a size 12!), so she would look for something else. I was a D cup and she came back with a strapless push up bra.

I put it on and it shoved my boobs right up so they were in your face, and I didn't feel very secure in it. The bra fitter came back in and said it was perfect and I looked lovely in it

After she'd gone, I leaned forward slightly and fell right of the bra. That would have looked great on my wedding day with boobs bouncing out my dress

I walked out without buying anything.

I went to an independant store (Sadie the Bra Lady) and they were lovely. They told me to bring my wedding dress into the store, and they fitted me with a beautiful basque that was very comfortable and gave me a lovely shape under the dress.
Here I go again on my own....
