You are in a perfect position to dictate all the terms you like: they must return the full deposit to you before you will leave. They must confirm, in writing, that you have absolutely no liability for the rent. They must refund any unused rent (if you have to leave on June 20th and you've paid til June 30th, you get 10 days back). They must pay the full removal costs! Go wild!

I'd go along with this. Your landlord has made an utter balls up and you are in a ridiculously good position. You are a spanner in the works for this sale and they have not got a leg to stand on legally, and they know it. As such, their offer of about £200 is an absolute insult. Hell even double that would be a p*sstake. If I were in the same situation I would be asking for all the above.

    Follow this advice.

Well. They are playing hardball. They offered to pull out of the sale and sell to me. I'm too far gone with a much nicer house now. I threatened not to leave and they said they could lose the buyer and put it back on the market, but also that the buyer is prepared to wait.

I stood my ground and this is the result.

    £400 moving costs paid.
    Last months rent free. £600.

No notice required, I'm leaving in 2 weeks and they won't require my notice to be paid.

I can keep white goods which were new end of last year, washer and fridge.

    Deposit back in full.

I want to move into my new house so I have accepted.

To be honest I think I'd freak out with any more stress, I've had surgery and its hard enough sorting stuff out when hopping around :)

Get all of that in writing!

They are in absolutely no position to "play hardball" and they know it.

I have, she emailed me which I've printed and she left a voicemail too. Recorded it to saved messages.

I really want to move in two weeks.

If anything goes wrong with my purchase (seriously hope not) i'll play havoc :)

Contact them and say you would like them toconfirm in writing (ie a letter). Recap all the conditions so that the letter when it comes does not miss anything.

Even though they know I'm buying somewhere? They know because I told them when I asked about notice period and I had to give them as a reference to the mortgage company.

Yes deposit protected and info given.

LL has never changed, I've always rented from the receivers. Been here 2 and a half years.

As others have said, it makes no difference whether you're buying somewhere or not. Your still entitled to be treated correctly and legally.

I'd be asking for cash and waiting it out.

Edit: just saw their offer, not bad. Much improved from £200. As others have said, just get them to write it out in a letter (headed paper) and job done
