Assuming that the letter you have received is entitled "Notice to Owner" and without disclosing the dates etc did you receive it within 14 days if you count the day they say you were parked as Day 0?My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016).
For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com0 -
By the way, it's not ANPR. All it is, is a camera on a pole that takes a picture of a car and imprints a time on it.(Sometimes, even an accurate time) There is nothing automatic about it. The PPC send a request the DVLA to obtain the RK's name.
ANPR is a Police System which can access the DVLA database directly. People seem to think that the ANPR concept gives PPC's some legitimacy and this not so.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -

Instead of just saying it's not quite correct, can you not expand say what is not correct and what is correct?
Newbies will just get confused else...0 -
ANPR is a system, a generic use of CCTV able to capture and process VRNs often but not necessarily linked to a Database. This is NOT specific to the Police/DVLA
Maybe not, atilla, but I agree with Fergie in that what the scammers call 'ANPR' is not the same real ANPR as used by the Police. I think of the former as a camera on a pole and nothing like real ANPR with a link to the DVLA & insurance database - as used by the BiB.
Anyway we digress. It's a camera and it takes pathetic pics of cars driving in and out!loveablebuilder wrote: »hi, just got a ANPR from vehicle control services, for staying longer than 2hrs while shopping, do I appeal or just forget it, ???? . Please answer HO87's question without giving too much detail. Is it s Notice to Owner or a Notice to Keeper, and was it received by day 14?
You can appeal this and win like on all the other PPC scam threads you can read here.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Afraid we'll have to agree to disagree.
Reason being it's what i spend some of my time working on.0 -

I know, but I still consider the term misleading, same as 'PCN' is misleading. It's all part of the impersonation of authority which I know we agree on.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Whether the details of the RK is obtained automatically or by secondary action is not really an issue. The scammers will obtain the information either way.
And these are ones used by not so smart.

Which begs the question - what does the 'A' in ANPR stand for? It most certainly is not an automated process where the the parking co receives the RK's details.
MNPR anyone?0
