    Hi,
Thank you for this opportunity to hopefully resolve the matter with dreadful kkomob. I have been charged in total £45 without a single use of their services. I have sent an enquiry ref. 11802225.

    Thank you
    Regards
    Darius

    Hi Darius,

Thanks for raising this with me.

As promised last week, I'll get back to you with an update as soon as possible.

    Hi there,

Having just looked at my Vodafone account I've just discovered that I've been charged £115 + VAT by these KKO Mobile people since April this year. I cannot believe this scam is not a breach of regulations...

    Hi cals,

If you'd like me to take a closer look at this could you email me with your details via the link in our profile here?

All you need to do is copy and paste the link into your web browser and it will take you to the Contact us form on our website. To make sure it reaches me could you also quote the code WRT135 - MSE in the subject line?

Once sent you'll receive an automated reply with a reference number. So I can make sure I've got it could you update the thread with this and I'll get back to you as soon as possible?

    Kind regards,

    Lee

Advice from the Vodafone Team or any other network team please?

Obviously the VF Team rep must have missed my post or perhaps like most of the networks he didn't want to commit himself to an answer.

No reason why any of the networks would want to change things when they profit from the unauthorised funds being taken from our accounts.

Intasun32 is correct in saying that I was hesitant to text STOP to the number as it notifies the company that the number is active, and therefore able to leech off. That is why, until they told me to text STOP, I have never replied to one of those scamming texts and whatnot.

I am still not confident that Vodafone will sort out the monetary aspect of this fiasco.
frankly patronising response from the customer services representative

I agree with this quote from Cals. The Vodafone customer service rep condescendingly told me to text stop, and also insinuated that I had intentionally subscribed to the service by putting my number in some sort of forum. I was absolutely outraged that he would think I'd knowingly do that.

Also, Lee from Vodafone, I appreciate your input, but could you tell me exactly how you would help me if I followed your steps (only if necessary).

*note: I want to continue this thread until we come up with the very best course of action against KKO Mobile.

    Hi Rory the Filmmaker,

Thanks for returning to the thread.

If you did decide to email us we'd investigate matters and liaise with KKO Mobile.

Naturally, we can't guarantee the outcome one way or the other but each case is handled on an individual basis.

    Kind regards,

Received a message from Lee that Kko mobile stopped the charges and will hopefully refund me as a gesture of good will.
Thank you very much Lee for sorting this out!

    Re: WRT135 - MSE [#4902864]

I've also been scammed by these scumbags at KKO Mobile. I categorically did not ever purchase something from them nor did I click on any content etc.

My Vodafone account manager contacted KKO to stop the subscription but said they won't do anything about getting my money back. Incredible that a company can put charges on your mobile account without authorisation.

I've taken matters into my own hands and this is what I would recommend anyone else doing.

    1. Make sure you send the message saying STOP to stop them charging your account.

    2. Go to the KKO MObile website LINK REMOVED and submit a request. Here is the text from mine:

I did not ever nor would I ever download an app, ringtone or game from your company.

    A. Please confirm that there is no current subscription for number xxxxxxxxx.
    B. PhonepayPlus requires you to keep records of exactly what item was clicked on to start a subscription as this is the commencement of a legal contract. Please show what this was in my instance.
    C. Under your own rules and under PhonepayPlus guidelines, you have a 3 step opt in process. Please show that I opted into a service by agreeing to 3 separate steps.
    D. After the first SMS where a subscription was commenced, please show me details of all activity on my subscription on my account - all items downloaded etc. There were none I can assure you.
    E. I have reported this to PhonepayPlus and to Vodafone. I would therefore appreciate that you reply regarding these questions without delay as I intend to pursue this further if not resolved quickly and entirely to my satisfaction including the refund of all monies taken from my Vodafone account.

    3. Then go to the PhonepayPlus website and lodge a formal complaint against KKO Mobile here: LINK REMOVED

    4. Complain to Vodafone - I've just done this via the weblink posted earlier by Lee. Reference above Lee.

    5. You will get a reply from PhonepayPLus where you need to provide copies of your mobile bill showing the charges, copies of SMS messages and I also sent them all the communication I had with KKO MObile that have of course gone unanswered.

I have today also emailed Lee the Vodafone web relations company representavive, in a last ditch attempt to get a refund. But I also agree that Vodafone should start supporting their customers when they have been a victim of a scam. We have a business account spending around £1000-2000 per month and Vodafone have been far from helpful so far.

  • Well, it looks like I've finally finished it once and for all.

My mum emailed the CEO of Vodafone, and they replied to say that all the money had already been refunded, plus they will give us compensation and offered my mum an early upgrade.

TO SOLVE THE KKO ISSUE, WRITE TO THE CEO OF VODAFONE. IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO DO THIS, USE THE LINK THAT LEE FROM VODAFONE HAS POSTED ON THIS THREAD

Thanks to all that helped me through this difficult time.
