pick your own.....

I pick strawberries and raspberries from my local farm, can't remember the prices off the top of my head but it is certainly a lot cheaper than supermarkets. I always check the supermarket price when I do my weekly shop, then revel in the fact that mine are so much cheaper!
I also think it's worth mentioning that I get zero waste when I pick my own, whereas there are usually quite a few manky looking fruits in the supermarket's punnet, thus making "pick your own" even more of a bargain...0 -
There is nothing better than picking them straight off and eating them! If you have space I highly recommend growing your own at home as we were supplied with loads of fresh raspberries that we could pick straight off the bush for breakfast every morning!Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0

Hi suzkin,
If you check out www.mysupermarket.co.uk you'll see that strawberries from supermarkets (which taste nothing like real strawberries) average around £4.36 per kilo so the pyo are cheaper. Though as someone mentioned earlier growing your own is even cheaper with very little cost and work. I had 30 strawberry plants this year and we're still picking them!
I'll add your thread to the main one on pick your own to keep the replies together.
