At ours they have baskets but they say to you if you reuse the basket next time you save 30p I think it was. Think you could take your own but not sure.0

Made some strawberry jam but it is not my favorite, Mrs Motty managed to do a "deal" with a local market trader for 4 kilos of raspbs which makes gorgeous jam. The goosebs went in crumbles and the freezer, it has been sugested we try strawb and gooseb jam.
Good picking

We also went at the weekend and picked some Strawbs and Gooseberries as I have late variety growing in my garden & only planted the gooseberry bushes this year. Going back later this week as there was loads of black and red currants ready for the picking.Rebel No 220

Hello
Just thought it worth a mention that Pick Your Own Farms can make grocery shopping cheaper - if you have one near you its probably worth checking it out.
This week my local farm had sweetcorn, beetroot, onions (red & white), spinach, courgettes, raspberries, blackberries, plums and strawberries.
Not to mention the fact it is quite fun to do and gets you (and the kids) outside.

I am new in this country but I like very much this forum!
I would like to make my first jam next weekend but I don't know where to find good strawberries or cherries. I do not want to buy them in Tesco...
Maybe I can go to my local market or find on internet a farm where to pick them up by myself. In this last case, do you know if it is cheaper than buying them "already picked up"?
thanks for any help!0
