Landline/Broadband confusion

I need to get Broadband into my new flat. I don't have a telephone line to the property and I only receive the free TV channels from Sky, so therefore don't pay Sky anything at the moment. I have free Orange calls in the evenings and at weekends so don't really need a landline. The world's my oyster so to speak. What's the best way forward? Please help I'm a real technophobe! Do you need a BT landline to get Broadband or can it be done solely through Sky without any landline?

Only company that can install broadband without a phone line is Virgin Media (if you're in a cabled area that is, if not then you'll have to get a BT landline)0

Thanks Norman! Does a landline always need to be a BT landline or are there other installers? I see that Martin mentions TalkTalk saying that the package includes line rental - is that rental from talktalk or BT? When I said technophobe I wasn't joking.0

You need BT to install a landline as far as im aware. All these others comapines just hire the lines from bt to provide their service.0 -
Don't know if this is any good as I've never tried it. Its wireless broadband for those who don't have a phoneline or don't want cable. Its in the London area as far I can find out.
It don't quite know what to make of them, but they are a large company from Hong Kong.

They are making cut backs on their coverage so you'll end up without a service. Mynow are not reliable is you want a good solid connection for a while.0
