I think camera depends on how you use it, loads of people have managed to get decent shots out of it, I think it's mostly low light situations that gets complained about.

As for it being fragile, stick it in a case :) It does have a glass back though, so dropping it without protection may not end well. Mine sits in an eBay "S line" TPU case and has survived everything so far.

This is the one to go for. Not only does it protect it, but as it is clear it shows off the pretty glass back:

Mine is also clear for that reason, but it's not as posh as that. Then again it only cost a couple of quid :rotfl:
  • Thank you, I am having to think rather quickly as my htc has died for good this time so im back to using the not so good spare phone.

But with the nexus how much storage do you need? i know you cant add an sd card but I'm not sure if 8gb would be enough either. I tend to just use apps and pictures i have never really put videos or music on my phone as i have an mp3 player so have kept using that.

I think its really just the camera putting me off so i might have to go play with it a bit more in the phone shops before i decide. I do like the price of £240 for the 8gb as the s3 is around £320 + that i can find.

All sensible roads do lead to the 16 gig nexus in my opinion. From a spec vs price point there is nothing to beat it. Unless you are storing load then 16 gig is more than sufficient for most people. Hell you may even decide that 16 gig is too much and the 8 will suffice. If you do that then you save even more.

My contact with 3 ends in a couple of weeks and once I have my pac then I will be ordering my 16gig Nexus 4. can't wait.

Just order your N4 now and use it on 3 for a bit ;) They work very well on 3 due to DC-HSPA.

Thanks for that Rusty. Doh!!!! Of course. It is sim free so I can become used to the phone while running down my 3 contract. Now why didn't I think of that? Occasionally it takes someone else mentioning the most logical thing. My Giffgaff simcard should be here any time as well.
    Happy days!!!!

It all depends on what you like to do with phones! Everyone has their preferences and they are all different! I got a nexus 4 a few months ago & love it. The camera is pretty good, fantastic for a smartphone of its price .. Not necessarily as good as image quality as an iphone or higher priced top of the range smartphone but it is pretty good. I have seen some really good quality shots from it that people have posted on google+ using it. It is 8 megapixel and has a Sony sensor inside.

Look on YouTube and search "tested.com nexus 4 in depth" and it is a really good video talking about the phone (ignore the bearded guy & just listen to the chinese dude lol!)

Other phone to consider: acer cloudmobile £170 expansys now has upgrade to jellybean used to be £299 has great specification for the £170 price tag.

Samsung has announced s4 mini but not released yet but the specs are only slighter higher than the acer mentioned above & I'm sure it will be around £300 at launch.. S3 mini was and specs on that are quite bad.. & it can now be picked up for £200. You are paying for the name!

Huawei g510 from Vodafone - £130 - pretty good specs - you would have to get unlock code & remove bloat ware - runs android jellybean (jellybean is the name of the latest version of android!)

A site that is pretty good for news is gsmarena.com - you can compare different models of phones on there too!

    Hope this helps a bit!

I read my new Sony Xperia SP gives Nexus 4 a run for its money on reviews before I parted with my direct debit details to EE, its a mid range Sony thats almost a top of the range Sony, £250 upwards sim free but got it for £21.00 a month unlimited texts and calls, 500MB (£5 a month to use them abroad in monthly bundles)= £504 over term, which would have been £300.00 handset and Virgin unlimited with 3GB £15 over 24 months (30 day sim) £360 = £660, so I saved £156 with EE and to boot ability to use my unlimited abroad for a extra £5 a month.

No brainer for me and my usage, most people prob head to Europe 2-6 times on average, so £5 roaming pays off.

    Orange do it for £299.99.

But go to a shop and ask to see it ON, SX SP has 720 HD screen, its lush.... :)

N4 may have 1080 screen, faster processor and 1080 video recording, but SP has 4G, NFC and better video recording (Sony Bravia Mobile Engine 2) and expandable memory via a microSD slot (32GB), for me this makes SP more future proof as the N4 specs is dated already. Google reviews, here is one review N4 v SX SP http://www.knowyourmobile.com/google/google-nexus-4/20141/nexus-4-vs-sony-xperia-sp

Anyone wanting the additional £5 off contract (£26 on ee.co.uk) say so and I will give you my account number to call ee telesales to match the £21 deal. Its £10 off a month, saving £240 off the full usual price.
SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe ;)
