Thanks habibiboo
Well I have pretty much been a shell of myself at work today-I know I shouldn't but all I can do is think about worst case scenarios. And today he handed in his notice so he'll be leaving 2 weeks before his contract would have run out-his way of jumping in first and regaining face. But it's bugggered us finances wise. I guessed he might do something like this but he agreed last night he'd stay on. Oh well
No way we'll reach out targets so debt busting seems to be on hold. I know it's not his fault and I'm not going to blame him but if we can't deb bust we can't get debt free, we can't start trying for a baby retreatist and we can't start saving a deposit for a house an I can't justify buying myself clothes so will continue to live in tatters. Woe is me eh?!!
*sigh* just feel like I've backtracked a yearDebts @ LBM (May 2013): £25,250.27 | Debt Free: May 2015 :j:j0 -
How bitterly disappointing for you I do hope your other half finds work soon. You have made such brilliant progress, don't be too downhearted.0

Oh my sweet crazy C-R - major hugs to you. Like, back breaking bear hugs. Well that's a kick in the teeth. Right. Rethink. Regroup.
It will be okay. It may not be what you expected it to be, then again it might. One thing is certain: One way or another it will be okay. You will see the end of this particular wave and the ebb and flow of a structured life will return and maybe sooner rather than later.
The end of positivity is not borne of the situation - that will come when you choose not to be positive and I don't think you will allow the situation to kick you for long. You are incredibly strong - I have always been able to feel it through your words. You will manage this situation and come out the other side victorious. You will. My God, look what you did in the last 6 months just by setting your mind to something! You are a force.
I will follow along and support you until my fingers hurt! Believe me, it will be okay. Don't beat yourself up for allowing yourself a little self pity - all of us would do the same. Sometime soon you will pull up your boot straps, lower your horns and charge this situation like a demon possessed!! And you will win. You will.
Chin up and a bottle of wine perhaps. Love and strength to you, Honey. XxCredit Card Freedom gained 14 Feb 2014!!Total Debt Freedom gained 29 Apr 2014!!Savings goal 30/9/23: £72,000/£538,001.....yes I'm serious!Total Debt August 2013: [STRIKE]$21,587[/STRIKE] April 2014: $0!!!!:j0 -

hello Hoks and WABL
Thank you for popping by and thank you so much for your kind words. I'm so blessed to have my 'virtual' companions on here. Thank you!! :grouphug::grouphug:
So - I've started today determined this is not going to break us. After all - we have our health and each other so we can get through this. So - I will put all money away when OH gets paid rather than paying off any debts (god the temptation will be so strong!!!) and keep it in a holding account and I will try and make us survive on only my salary so all that money put away can (at some point) be thrown at debts but acts as a cushion just in case.
My aim is we end up only 2 months out of sync - and that will rely on him getting through this (he's still really hurt by it) and getting ANYTHING just to bring money in and he can look for a permanent job just not from the sofa in his pants!!!!
My work is to support him but not overly push him - because that will not go well!!! I did overtime on Friday and got an extra 150 so that will help - I might ask for more overtime (it's not usually given but I might have a word with the guy who divvies up the extra work and beg him - he helped out last year by giving me more work when life was tough so he might do it again).
Just got to stay focused. And it was good to do a big pantry shop last month because now we're sorted for staples for 3 months!! Thats why I stockpile!!! A nagging fear of loss of jobs at any time! This time it was true.
So stick with me people - I'll get through this, one way or another, we'll do this and I will return to the debt-busting journey.
I love you all xxxxDebts @ LBM (May 2013): £25,250.27 | Debt Free: May 2015 :j:j0 -

hello everyone!!!
Well, feeling better and stronger now. Been supporting the OH who is still fighting his inner demons - he still sees it as a slight on him personally rather than simply coming to the end of his contract (which had been extended a number of times and lots of people had spoken of permanency).
So last night we put up the Xmas tree and did some yoga and read some books together to relax and it was lovely! and it cost nothing! :j:j
Hopefully he will be ringing some recruitment agents today so keep your fingers crossed for us - maybe it won't be a downer Christmas like it seemed a week ago!
hugs to all xxxDebts @ LBM (May 2013): £25,250.27 | Debt Free: May 2015 :j:j0
