I have spent £8.65 at McDonalds last night and £61.18 at Tesco this morning, am so annoyed  I left my £6 off a £40 spend on the arm of the chair at home, realised when I got to the check out that I only had the money off coupons with me,

Another meal plan made for this week, it's definately getting a bit easier, but really need to think what we need.

Was so shocked at Tesco's chicken breast fillets this morning £12/kg. :eek:no way am I ever paying that, so going to the chicken factory this week where it's £4/kg or 15kg box for £15, but that would be £50 out of the shopping budget, not sure how to calculate that as the chicken would be enough for next month as well.

Still so much to learn. Making my own bread and cake this week

I think you mean 15kg for 50.00, thats a really good price. If its enough for next month as well I would count half this month and half for next.

Opps, hope its better soon for you. I have had to give up using my really good knives for a while as really cant see what I am doing and have nicked myself a few times now.

Get my second eye Op on the 20th so hopefully sorted then.

Im struggling... I had a great food budget and now its all gone pear shaped.. Through a family crisis ive had to hand over £200 of my budget and now have £235 until the 27th of the month.. But ive had a weekend away planned with my friend since last year. Which is £85 for dinner, bed and breakfast and £50 spends for lunches and coffee and petrol..
I had literally nothing in the fridge other than margarine and milk, and 2 boxes of chilli and a chicken kiev portion, 4 sausages and some pitta bread in the freezer.. My cupboards however are groaning with stuff but Ive become so overwhelmed at the family situation that ive lost my way to plan meals etc until i get paid..
I cant stop crying as im scared to spend money in case I have to use it and it will have been used for food. So im in the situation of having money but am too scared to spend it... hardly anything in the freezer, nothing in the fridge, and i feel blagh
Shall i make a list of cupboards which are groaning and use a bit of cash or just use cupboards but then have nothing in the fridge.
When im away my DH needs to feed 2 of our children and he has no idea how to cook etc..

    NSD again today :)
Lunch today was some chicken & veg soup. There is some left which grand children will have tomorrow with some bread or toast.

We were going to have quiche tonight for tea but neither of us feel like anything yet so will probably just have some crackers and cheese later on.

Annie 99 - hope your family crisis gets sorted soon.
Mumoftwo - bread and cake looks lovely.

    NSD here.
I had to throw something from my cupboard - in the bin today.
It was a tub of Cocoa - about 3/4 inch deep - not going to tell you the date on it. :o
I tried a bit on my finger and decided - it had to go. :(
I never throw food away normally.
For dinner we had HM Cheese/Tomato Quiche with HM wedges + HM Garlic Coleslaw.

Oh i hate throwing things away too Flo. Before i started the MSE way of life, i'd throw away loads of stuff from the fridge on a weekly basis, before filling it back up again on the (expensive!) weekly shop.

Now i try to eat everything, and make meals out of what is left in the fridge :)

lhead123-i hope your hand is better soon!

Just gone over £200 for the month with 9 days left to go. Spent £3 odd yesterday on 3 tins of dog food and some sweeties at the local Nisa. The dog food was really good value so I might get him a few more. I also spent just over a fiver in mr t on lucozade, value fizzy water, cucumber, has browns and bacon tonight . After 2 days heavy gardening work at the weekend and a full day at work I did not, have the energy to make the dish I had planned so we are having an all day breakfast. Pleased we didn't waste £15 on a takeaway:)

I am hoping I will have reduced my freezer contents enough to turn the one in the garage off at the weekend;)
