Have you reported this to the police, you should incase they try to use your cards.

Rotten luck Hun, especially being as it was for Birthday money.

I went in the bank and told them and they blocked them and put them down as stolen. Do you think it's still worth reporting?

Ah my sympathies. One of the worst feelings in the world. I thought I'd done it a few days ago too; but luckily mine was under my bags. Couldn't have happened at a worse time for you. Hope you manage to muddle through okay.

Thank you, and everyone else for being so nice! Luckily I'd already bought him most of his birthday gifts and he's only going to turn 4 so he won't notice anything really and will be happy with what he's got. And DH is lending me his travel money budget which I can pay him back with when I get paid so we can still go out for his birthday treat.

Not having a very good week this week because our washer has packed in too so looks like we're going to have to order a new one!

In other news I was telling DH about how little we had spent this month and he was chuffed to bits but thinks we can get it down to £150::eek: I'm game if he is:D

We will need to buy milk tomorrow.
We had Huss + HM wedges + salad - celery, pepper, red onion, white onion, tomato for dinner.
I made some more JJ's Herby Cheese Bread - used the last of some Feta cheese - rustic look. I sprinkled some Garlic Granules on top of bread after brushing with milk before baking.

I really can't remember if I've updated so far in this challenge, so sorry if I have, but if I haven't then here we go:

Sitting at £38/80 - spent £16 on two consecutive weeks at Aldo's, £1.20 on veg at Coup, and a few quid in Tesc0's on various bits.

Have been working hard to run my cupboards down, so have a pretty bare freezer atm, but I've worked out a meal plan that will get me through the next 10 days at least on what I have in, I would only need to pick up some bread and ham for lunches.
  • Think I'll just leave out the delivery charge then, I think £100 is quite ambitious if it includes delivery, especially for our first challenge. We shall see though.

Can anyone recommend a Philly cheese alternative I can get from tesco? It would need to work for cooking and be more creamey tasting than cheesey, if that makes sense. Philly is one of the only things I buy that isn't supermarket value/own brand.

I just buy whatever value/smart price soft cheese they have, I think about 44-50p for a tub. I use it for everything, like pasta sauces, on toast, and in cream cheese frosting for cakes and brownies. Just make sure to check the fat content is the same as your usual Philly, as the low fat ones tend to split when beaten, and might contain other ingredients like carrageenan (which makes it thicker). I do a lot of baking for cake sales, craft fairs etc and there's no way I'd pay the top brand price for philly now!:)

    Hope that helps. Ellie.

Thanks Ellie. They didn't have a value one on Tsc's website. Wonder if it's not available in whatever branch the delivery comes from. They do have this new brand reduced (cheaper than philly) though, so may try that.
