August doesn't start untill the 1st but I'll put our budget up now.
£200 for us please. 1st - 31st.
A meat box was purchased this month (July) and half the cost is going in July and half in August. Am going to put it in now even though August hasn't started so I don't forget about it.
£32.50/£2002 adults groceries: June £35.79/£200
# 3 - Saving for Xmas 2015 £1 a day. £122/£365
TTC #1 since 06/08/120 -
Hi can I be in please?
I need to find car tax money by the end of August
Planning on doing more Aldi/Lidl shops to save some money.
The plan is £220 hopefully...... as that is quite a huge drop for us but there's just two of us and no pets. But that does include all cleaning stuff, toiletries, loo roll etc.
I've booked a sainsbug shop for the branded and own brand stuff we relaly like and then plan to use just £20 a week for milk, veg, top ups. £20 seems to go quite far in Aldi, so I'm hoping.
My month starts from 25th.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Have roasted one of the half price chickens I got a couple of weeks ago in Aldi and am having a play to see how far I can stretch.
I really cant beleive I used to eat so much meat. I would eat a whole chicken breast for one meal. Then I discovered I could stretch it for 2.
I just used the meat slicer and sliced up the two breasts. It has made
4 portions. 2 for roast dinner, 2 for salad and theres enough for 4 chicken salad baps. So 8 meals when previously I would only have had two.
Going to see what I can do the the rest of the chicken. I really enjoy doing this.
Edited to say I used a leg and wing to make 4 chicken and sweetcorn pies and the other leg and wing to make 4 x chicken curry toppings for baked potatoes. I put the bones skin and all left over bits in the pressure cooker with a pint of water and will make veg soup when I have bendy veg to use up.
So unless the heat has fried my brain, I am melting here, the sun just streams through my kitchen window. I make that 20 meals. when previously would only have been 4.
I have thoroughly enjoyed myself today and have taken a smartprice gammon joint out of the freezer, had to really to get everything in. So I plan to have a playabout with this tommorow.Slimming World at target0 -
Can't wait to see what you get out of your gammon joint tomorrow, Meg. You did so well with your chicken.

Been shopping today.
In Sainsbobs - used gift vouchers to pay for the shopping. I spent £2.85 in Lid. They have Chestnut Mushrooms for 59p - better than paying SS price of 69p at Ald.
Cucumbers are 49p in Lid.
In Tesco - I didn't have any vouchers so paid cash - £7.01
I was on my last tub of custard powder - Mr Ts own brand is 62p compared to Bird. £1.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Meg - well done on the stretchy chicken
Coxy - my August doesn't start until the 25th, but can you put me down for £175 again? Found it actually not too hard this month on the slightly reduced budget and it's another four weekend month. Don't have kids to worry about the school holidays either (but I'm appreciating all the posts as I hopefully will have one day and good to be prepared :rotfl:)Part time working mum | Married in 2014 | DS born 2015 & DD born 2018

First shop of the month today. I spent £7.68 on a big block of value cheese that will last this week and next, dog biscuits, dog food mixer and 4 carrots. I used £2.50 of nectar points as I am trying to spend as little as possible this months so an actual spend of:
£5.18/£100
Our using up the freezer/cupboard stock is going well. Roast chicken, roast pots and veg last night, tuna/egg sarnies today with HM cake and a fruit salad made with a mix of fresh and tinned fruit. Tonight we had a pasta bake using a jar of sauce and some of the pasta mountain and garlic bread from the freezer.
I bought a blackboard on holiday for the kitchen and have put my meal plan on it. DH seems really enthused about our 'use it up' plan and has started a tally on the blackboard of how many evenings meals we can get out of our freezer/cupboards. 2 so far:DSave £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
Pay off £7000 - £1743 - 19.4%
Make £2021 extra income - £99.750 -
