    Hi all,

Haven't posted for days due to DD leaving primary school and the general chaos that goes with that! I have food shopped this week but only for work and for a BBQ on Wednesday for 20 church folk - both shops will be reimbursed.

The BBQ netted us a lot of leftovers which we have had for lunch Thursday and today and dinner last night. We also have a pack of 10 steak burgers and a pack of minty lamb chops that weren't used, stashed in the freezer.

Dinner tonight will be an Indian takeaway - please don't judge. I was bitten on the ankle whilst in the garden and my foot/ankle are swollen to twice the size. Had to go to A&E last night (after DDs prom) to get antibiotics. If I hadn't organised the prom then I would've gone sooner :o Anyway, no cooking for me tonight as I need to elevate my foot. Am meant to be working an 8 hour shift tomorrow, on my feet all day, so already putting plans into place to get that covered.

Will need to shop over the weekend, and shift money over into 2nd purse, so I imagine I will be over by about £20 give or take. Not too bad for a long 4.5 week month.

    Have a good evening everyone.

That sounds really painful. I keep being bitten, getting fed up of itching and applying calamine.Should be thankful though considering what you're going through.

Small spend of £1.60. Took lots to the park but bought a 6 pack of crisps (spicy space raiders) FOR 60P, and 3 packs of chewing gum, and two flip lollies for £1.00.

£13.52 spent since last update so getting very close but am still hoping that we can do it.

We had quiche last night and have just finished off what was left for lunch today. Will own up to it being a shop brought pastry case though.

Another £20.13 spent today - did very well considering that was across 3 supermarkets, only deviated from the list once! Just squeaking in under budget but cupboards are looking noticeably emptier than usual. Hoping to not spend any more on grocery until August now so see you over on the new thread!

Well, i fear i will have gone over target :o Will add at up at the end of this post :( This is what happens the first time this month that I go shopping without a list!

Had a mega hectic weekend. DH got a few unexpected days holiday so all plans went out the window. Then got invited to BBQ yesterday, which we enjoyed a few too many drinks :p

    Anyway, the damage:

Tesco. A spend of £24.54p over 2 days. Included the veg for dinner today, £11 on alcohol (unexpected for DH), 2 YL loafs, biscuits, dog treats and cheese slices.

Iceland. A spend of ££36.75p and I only went in for breadbuns! Taking 2 of the kids with me was the biggest mistake. I asked what I was to provide for the BBQ, was told just to bring alcohol and breadbuns. So bought 8 packs of breadbuns (£4), and the rest went on stuf i didn't need to be honest. Apart from coffee and potatoes. Ended up buying 3 boxes of greggs pasties, alphabites and frozen chips, a couple of packets of burgers (took them to BBQ too), chocolate fudge cake, biscuits, cheese, meat, crisps, tinned stuff and 6 bottles of pepsi!:o

I seriously didn't need well over half all that stuff!

Then to top it off, DH went to BBQ before me and bought more larger and some alcopop type drinks (he has certainly made the most of these few days off), and because I'd had a few too many to drink, i ended up giving someone £5 to get me a small bottle of vodka at the local shop! So basically, another £20 gone!

I'm not gonna moan at DH about the £35 that was blown on alcohol this weekend. It was a one off. It was shared out amongst all the people at the BBQ, and to be honest he has done well over 60 hours overtime in 2 weeks so we can do stuff with the kids over the holidays. We had a fab weekend and the kids have ran riot. So i think he deserves a few drinks with friends and family.

Off to update signature and see just how much I have overspent by..... :o

Update Wow, £27.21p over so far! Can you believe after my splurging on nothing i forgot to buy milk??? :rotfl: My month ends tomorrow so only have 2 days to get through.

On the plus side, this is my first month on the challenge, and I have learnt so much already. Infact without this challenge, I think I would have easily spent/wasted somewhere in the region of £800, which is a massive difference! And that would be in a normal month without summer holidays with 3 kids so I think thats a vast improvement!

Looking forward to the challenge next month. We are going away for a week, and 2 of my kids are going away for another 2 weeks, so I need to think about how i'm gonna split my budget up. I'll have a think of it over the next day or 2. Also gonna do a stock list and see how much food I actually have!

Right, enough chatting to myself. Off to prep the veg for lunch!
