A!di this morning to use my vouchers - £53.92 and Co$tco £22.07. Need to update my sig with new totals.
Mini T-I-H tonight - needs to be quick and simple as I've offered to help at DS2's cubs
Have a good day everyone

Just updated signature - I've already spent £59 of my £200 budget but that was £49 in aldi using my voucher.. got 6 chick breasts and some mince in the freezer which aren't needed for this week's meal plan and should make 6 meals for 2 between them..
Got my slow cooker back after the move!! I'd left it behind but we've only moved 5 mins walk from our old house and the new people were kind enough to drop it in last week.. so made a big batch of chilli on sat - ended up not eating it though as we did a sportive bike ride on sat and were able to swap our car park tickets for food... so 2 chilli meals for 2 also into the freezer - having the 3rd portion for tea tonight with wedges to use up the sprouty spuds that are in the cupboard...
also got 2 breaded fish portions for 50p (co-op YS) last week so they are in the freezer for later in the month too.
I need to combine weight loss with moneysaving too .. just thinking I might put my tracker (weightwatchers) up in the kitchen to try and keep me on the straight and narrow.. i've put the meal plan up to try and make us stick to it too. .. there's only me, mr sheep and the dog to see it but worth a try
Florenceem - sprats!! where did you get them / how did you cook them? they looked lovely! Also..I was wondering if you made your own sausage rolls - they always look very nice too
Moodymare - this is prob too late but I was in aldi too at the weekend and diet cokes were 2.19 for 6 cans.. might not be cheaper than morrisons as i know the big supermarkets do have good deals but worth looking out for...
Flat eric - did you know you can freeze ham/sandwich meat - I have about 4 packets in the freezer just now as my mam went a bit bananas bringing provisions during the house move. You can just defrost the night before if they are for sandwiches xx
Raggydoll - hello! every little helps so it's a brill idea to take baby steps.. see how you get on this month
Good luck all - sorry for such a long post!! XX
The sausage rolls were not home made. When I do make home made - they are rustic looking - I don't fiddle about with them. :rotfl:Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Good afternoon everyone.
Well first day of my challenge and it`s a NSD today:j, so very happy with that. I managed to take out the £90 in cash for the week and this is now in a seperate purse.
We`ve got turkey drumsticks from the freezer, that were cooked in a mix of value curry sauce and cocoanut block and i`ll will serve this later with some veggies and the naan bread that we got from mrT, a bargin of 20p a pack and 2 for 3 offer.
It`s been a gorgous day, so a bit of sorting out in the garden was on the books for today and I managed to get quite a bit done, yeah!
Anyway, I need to get back and have a sort through the cupboards to see what I can come up with for packed lunches tomorrow.Grocery Challenge 2013: July week 1 £90/£87.41

Good afternoon everyone, well I cant find Junes Grocery challenge to put my GS results for June in so am declaring £210 final budget for june which was a tenner over budget so not to bad at all. For July can you please show my budget as being £210, then if I go over again I wont feel so guilty. Not sure where I am going wrong there is only me and the OH and frequent visits from grandkids and a wild cat which I feed in the garden. Good luck everyone with this months challenge and thanks to admin for smooth running of the thread, without which I would seriously overspend!!!SPC No. 295 - SPC No10 target £350

Really pleased with myself this afternoon. Popped into Tesco to get some fruit, and they had huge bags of bananas reduced to 99p! So grabbed a bag, which will do half as snacks and half will go for banana bread..anyone got a nice recipe?0

Small spend on bread and milk in the Co-Op after I was at the gp this morning.
£1.45 on bread and 2x1lt Cravendale (75p each, cheaper than at Morrison's where I usually pick our milk up and cheaper than 1lt bottles of co-op own normal life's milk!)
Slight change in my non-food budgets for the month now as I won't be buying the material to make a dress with just yet. Need to decide how I will do it instead - either use the 30 allocated to pay for the dresses I got altered (the 24 going to come out of my 'pocket' money) or just save it :-\ will wait a week or two to decide if I re-gig my budget maybe************************************

Hello everyone, I've just read through all the posts on here as I feel like I've been slipping off the GC wagon. Just had a Chinese takeaway (two meals between 3 of us
) as I felt too tired to cook, I've been up since about 5, sorting stuff to send to eBay buyers, nipping to bank to pay in money from a car boot sale yesterday, done a full day at work then went to see nurse with my daughters for injections to go to Africa, my one daughter was so scared and crying so I opened my mouth and said 'come on, let's have a Chinese. . .'
Sorry that ramble isn't really GC related but it shows some old habits are slipping back. I spent another £27 in Sains the other day, £5 was non grocery spends, so just one day into July I'm at £90ish of £200. I need to have a word with myself
I'm going to make a meal plan and hope to get to the middle of the month without doing too much further damage.0 -
