Having trouble with the jobcentre

I think you should go to the doctor and explain the situation, maybe you are depressed or something, and he might recommend that you "go sick" for a while and sign you off JSA and onto ESA.
Please share how you have come to the conclusion that he is "depressed or something"! :rotfl:0 -

Being aggressive does not mean someone is depressed, it means they need to learn to manage their anger. How do you suggest this chat with the GP goes? "Hello doc, I've been told to come and see you because the nasty Jobcentre wants me to do menial work and I couldn't possibly do that as I might get itchy? Can I have a sick note please?"

Why do you think someone would be on JSA for 14 years?
I don't know why you think a visit to the doctor is laughable, are you a doctor?0 -
Because they have a bad attitude as shown in this post surely? Why do you think someone would be on JSA for 14 years?

Because they are lazy and unwilling to help themselves? Are you suggesting all long term claimants are mentally ill?
On the information given, I think the suggestion of visiting a doctor in order to claim ESA is laughable. I would not discourage anyone from seeing their GP for a genuine reason, but not to play the system.0 -

The OP clearly has issues, a visit to the doctor might help the OP.
That is what I suggested, it seems a perfectly sensible course of action to me.
Oh wait!
You mean anyone on ESA with health issues is "playing the system"?
Now that is laughable.0 -
a caregiver needs to be able to emotinally detach themselves from a situationseven-day-weekend wrote: »Oh I agree, the point I was making is that carers are not going to 'love' all their elderly clients, but it doesn't mean they won't still be a good carer. Hard to have sympathy for you after the remarks about acid, which I would say was a veiled threat.
However
I would suggest that the chances of you getting back into employment are virtually nil (I'm in a similar position) and you are clearly at your wits end (as am I !)
There are people with an excellent, full CV, with great qualifications and "the work ethic" who can't get a job in the current economic situation, so those of us who have been out of the market for a few years don't have a hope of getting anything.
I think you should go to the doctor and explain the situation, maybe you are depressed or something, and he might recommend that you "go sick" for a while and sign you off JSA and onto ESA.
That'll really help him find a job, won't it!0 -

No, the great majority of ESA claimants are genuinely unfit for work. However those that consider "going sick" solely in order to avoid signing on do not fit that criteria, do they?
* Thinks full time workfare for long term claimants cannot come soon enough! *0
