Kids walking along back garden wall as a through route

Possibly the wrong area of the forum...
Hi all,
Looking for possible 'sensible' suggestions here,
These pictures are either from google maps or from when I moved in (fair bit of work has now gone into the garden)
Ok, I own my house and have been in 18 months, at the back of my neighbours garden and mine is a 6 foot wall (my deeds show I own the part of wall that borders my garden) On the otherside of the wall is a large bungalow which is split into 3 properties.
Up until a few days ago I've had no issues whatsoever, however I've twice now caught kids walking along the back wall to use as a through route.
The wall is fairly old and so the top parts of the bricks are breaking up and parts are breaking off falling into our gardens.
There's also the obvious problem of it being an easy way for a burglary to happen/a fright for the elderly in 1 bungalow.
These are kids that I believe are under the age of 16 (1st two I saw ran across late at night and had covered the bottom half of their faces)
I got home from work tonight and saw 2 kids I hadn't seen before near mine at the end of the cul-de-sac, they stopped when they saw me park up and stood around waiting for me to go inside so I told them to forget it if they planned on walking across the wall. They walked away.
Apart from shouting at them what can I actually do, remember that I live here and so the kids could easily damage whatever they like/the cars.
Place large heavy plant pots along the wall?
Write to my local councillor....
The pictures should give you a better idea, they are climbing up onto of some garages and then using the wall as a short cut to another area and I presume the nearby shops.
1st picture shows the route they're taking and also the start and exit points, my garden is the left red dot.
2nd picture shows the wall.
3rd picture shows the garages that I imagine they are climbing on top of.

Sorry forgot to say that my cat and also my neighbours cat love walking along this wall (using it as a through route of their own)0

Vandal paint, although this may cause problems with the cat and your carpet!0

Sprinkler system. Good for the lawn, shouldn't hurt them.
Build a turret either end of the wall to stop access.
trellis and a nice thorny bramble on top.
A large loud dog.Trying to make the money last the month.0 -
You could put something along the top of the wall to stop it being used, there are rubber spikes that you can get which wouldn't hurt the cat.

I imagine a kid with trainers on could still walk slowly over those rubber spikes.
Sprinkler system would annoy the neighbours at the back of me.
Turret or something at the ends and they could just use the sheds to get around it
Something plant like could be a possibility although it would need to go over the wall and also into the neighbour at the backs area
I should've said, up until 3 months ago the bungalow at the back of my neighbours had a large bush that ran overtop of her part of the wall.
That was very thick so probably kept kids away0 -
Go for big metal spikes then0

Few strips of gripper rod along the centre of the wall - cats will still have "paw" room either side whilst the louts won't have room to put their feet without wrecking their trainers. Hopefully just the sight of them would be a deterrent and after a while you can probably remove them. I'd guess someone has started a dare or challenge to see who can get along the wall rather than it particularly being a practical short cut.Adventure before Dementia!0

hmmm, I wonder if I could fit a 2 metre in length pyramid type obstable to the top of the wall.
With enough angle you wouldn't be able to walk along the top without falling off.0 -

Yes, I was thinking ridge tiles like on the top of a roof but the triangular bricks would do a similar thing.0
