  • Hi Shelbi i am trying to do the same thing as you, I want to pay off everything by the end of 2013. You are doing really well! My total debt right now is similar in size to your original debt. The worst thing about my debts is that they are all at really high interest rates so even though the total is not as high as other people on this forum, the interest charges each month are about £200!

Anyway, keep going and you are doing a great job
    Overdraft: £2000............. Credit card 1: £2400.......... Credit card 2: £1530..........Credit card 3: £800...............Credit card 4: £800
pay day loan (too sad and ashamed to put the balance, but will be clearing it by the end of this month)

  • Hello! I did try to get a 0% card and got refused for it, unfortunately I have payday loans on my credit file (all of them paid off in full and on time, but apparently they are a deterrant for normal lenders). At the time I didn't realise they were so poisonous, I thought it would be okay as long as I paid them all in full.....:mad::mad::mad: but I will be getting rid of them for good by August 31st! Then I have a solid £7500 to clear before Christmas.:eek::eek::eek:

    We will make it

Morning Shelbi. Jus popping by to return the support from my thread!

Ouch - that was an expensive cinema trip for an Orange Wednesday! Are you in London? In Manchester we have a card that gives you the same discount as for students so with OW its only £4 for two people! We take snacks and drinks from the supermarket next door.

Ok, best get up now - can hear DS stirring. Good luck with your Ebay sales x

    Hi Lillian & horseshoe

Thank you hun my fingers & toes crossed for some sales, yeah I'm in London too it's pretty much the price these parts...though can be done cheaper if we didn't buy snacks & drinks in the theatre & just went halves on the ticket...atm we do one pays for tickets other gets treats...But yeah its expensive...£4 for two, wowza I'd practically live there that's great value!! Love a bit of Netflix I go to my friends to take advantage, it is good...thinking I may need to cut down on the cinema & take advantage of downloads....either that or cinema date only time it's free but that's just wrong:rotfl:

Sorted through my DVDs uploaded some to eBay I'm ashamed to admit I actually have some that still have the wrapper on...figure I could probably do with watching those till they all sell... Hope you guys have a fab Sunday :) x

  • Living in London is expensive when it comes to entertainment! I find food shopping is not too bad, I usually go to one of the big Asdas or Iceland and get loads of stuff in bulk. But a single evening meal out or cinema trip can cost the same as a week's food shopping!

Today was also on ebay and I have listed a pair of headphones and a broken 3year old camera on Ebay. I have also bought some cereal bars for lunch, and some basic veg +fruit for £10 and I am going to survive on that plus my cupboard contents until next weekend - the bank cards are officially in lock down until next Sunday!

Everyone on this forum has such good focus it is motivating me!

    Hi Horseshoe

Thats so true, I never used to think of it in terms of what else I could buy with that money, easily a weeks shopping eeek! Love a bit of Asda, Tesco when they have the petrol deal on plus saving those club points for xmas, not getting as far as I hoped. My new fave is Sunday Market for fruit and veg & meat..bargains!! Love the idea of living off cupboard contents, you must let me know how you get on!! These are my favorite challenges...you can so do it!!!:T

Good luck on your ebay sales, im sure everything will sell, even broken things, people love to buy things for the spare parts & have a tinker. I sold some of my ebay bits made a profit of £56.69 with I threw straight to my card...happy happy!! I nee to sort more things out, If I havent worn it or used it this year its going to be sold, if it doesnt sell ill keep rocking it up until December, I have alot of toot, but hey one girls rubbish is anothers treasure (im hoping).

Aiming for another NSD today, lunch made & eaten, bicycle used...Also managed to make it to the bank & pay in some coin jar contents £9 (paid to credit card) & sort out a switch account with Halifax for £100 & £5 each month.:j..almost didnt as they said I have to shut down my current account, I was gripped with fear as id had the account for over 15years & said id think about it, got to the end of the road then thought what the blinkers am I thinking.. its £100 with upto £60 a year, came to my senses and scooted back, interesting was my reaction to closing an account that pays me nothing...I didnt mind switching but didnt like the idea of it closed , go figure...clearly im not as comfortable with change as I thought..I need to get rid of that... im about to get real uncomfy thats for sure. Am letting no opportunities pass me by... Im truely determined to change & get rid of this deadwood debt :dance::dance:x
