O/S Daily Wednesday 05th June

This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

Good Morning Halight, Hester and All Who Follow xx

I agree with Hester - it is good to see you start the Daily. Hope you are comfortable and making a good recovery Halight:T

Im up early as naughty doggies seem to awaken earlier as the birdies start to sing. I try to get up so as not to wake the rest of the family.

I have a blood transfusion and iron transfusion tomorrow. I am very grateful to all of you who donate blood as it makes a huge difference to me:T

Today I think it will be a very quiet day as Im snoozy already so will probably go back to bed for a bit.

Hugs for a good day xx
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

    Morning all:j:j

Well I'm Back off me Holiday,
It was a lovely Hotel, On-suit and everything, Food was worse than a homeless shelter! And I'm not too sure were the sea view was !

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Not had a very good sleep, I was hoping that I would last night, But no.
So My plan for today today to is to get some good naps and rest In. :T:T

I don't feel too good at the moment. Could be because Iv not long woke up.

I have to say its the fastest Iv ever been In and out of Hospital.
I did it In three days after my OP 10 years ago, But that was only because I begged to go home. This time I did not even have to ask! The doctor just told me yesterday morning that I has doing great and I could go, Still I know what things to watch out for, And to Phone an amblenace or go to A&E if I expeance any of them. I also know what it feel like to expeance some of them too, As Iv had some of them before, 13 years ago after my first OP, I ended up being rushed back In a week after I had left Hospital Due to Fluid build up on my brain, The fluif is Called CSF
    Link Cerebrospinal fluid,
    I ended up with hydrocephalus,

    Link
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hydrocephalus

I had to have the fluid drained and a VP SHUNT put In,

    link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cerebral_shunt

I don;t have a shunt any more. I'm one of the lucky ones that has got away with not having to have one permanently, When they work, They save and keep you a live, When they get infected they are a !!!!!!! That's what happens too mine. I ended up being rushed back In twice more with Shunt Infections all with in a few weeks.

Anyway, Thanks for all the very kind Facebook messages,

I hope you liked the photo, Could not get one of the sea so I had to do!

No real plans for me today, Apart from getting some rest, I feel quite week to tell you the truth,
But I also know that I'm not going to just be able to sit around all day and do nothing! So I shall do some reading, But I will have to find a little something to have a go at later if I feel up to it. Just something light for 10 mins I'm thinking. I also might go for a little walk. My wife has this booked this week off, So I'm not at home on my own, Shes here to keep an eye on me.

Well I'v got a couple of days of daily thread to read back up on. So I'm off to make my second coffee of the day, And To have a read. I hope that you have lll been looking after yourself and enjoying yourself s while Iv been away!

    Enjoy your day everyone,

I will check back In later!

    Oh,
Aswell as being let out so soon. I was also a bit shocked to wake up back on the ward!
In the past I have always been in ITU for 24hers after my Op's as I have always been told that's whats needed after that sort of OP. And this time I was also told I would be In ITU for 24hrs, I was told this by my constants sec, that It had been booked. And also by the pre med nurse.
But I woke up back on the ward. Ok I was in the HD bay, And I had my own Nurse looking after me for a good 8 hrs, Then I had to share one.
Iv got to go and see My Consultant On Wednesday next week so I shall be asking about that. I don't mind. And it don't really bother me. But when your told something and something else happens it dose make you wonder what was going on. Maybe someone got rushed In while I was have my OP and needed the bed more than me, Or maybe they did not think i needed it after all, I don't know, But I would like to find out just for myself.
I do know that the Op went went like a text book OP. With no trouble at all. I also know that they go the Op done faster than they thought they would. It all went very super and they had lashing's of ginger beer after! even Timmy the dog was a good boy!

    Hilly

Sorry that you are unwell, get some rest and look after yourself.

    Morning all,
HALIGHT, Good to have you back so soon. Please make sure you rest and give the op a chance to heal.

I did so much y/day I had a soak in the bath as my back was killing me. Think I'll slow up today, plans are to mow the lawn and empty the car so I can thoroughly clean it. I need to clean the oven and fridge, haven't used the oven since DH has been in Vancouver as I've had salads.
I've watered all the garden plants already before the sun comes up, our garden is a sun trap with no shade, I watered it last night before I went to bed as it was as dry as a bone.
I'm hoping to have DGD's sometime today so I've got the sun cream at the ready and the paddling pool out.

JULIE, Hope the op goes well for you today.
MOLLY, hope your transfusion goes well too.
JOOLS, glad you got through the emotional day y/day, it must have brought back many memories. Thinking of you.x
    Have a good day all.

I have some ironing to get out of the way this morning and probably I may make some chocolate brownies for the boys as a treat.
Warm but cloudy at the moment but its supposed to brighten up later

    Morning all,

Halight so nice to see you back in the fold, I am amazed that you are home so quickly, make sure you get lots of rest over the next week, and please thank your wife for keeping us posted on FB, poor lady must wonder who all these strange females are who keep asking after you :D

Another beauitiful day here, shame I have to go to work, will do a quick swish round before I go, managed to get four loads of washing done and dried on the line yesterday, so dont think there will be any to do today.

Dinner tonight is chicken fried rice, so nice and easy.

    Hilstep take it easy xx

Jools, glad yesterday went ok xxx

    Have good days all xx

Good Luck to Julie for her op today xxx

I had a cold last week but it sounds like halight is recovering quicker than me :rotfl: excellent news! Listen to your body though and take it easy.

Today I will be doing my presentation prep, I'm stressed already, and waiting in for my freezer delivery. DS1 has his physics exam today, he's taking it in his stride as usual. I should learn from him!

julie. I hope you read this, good luck today. I hope it all goes well.

Molly I hope your transfusions go ok tomorrow. I don't give blood anymore as I had a transfusion myself so I'm banned, I do appreciate that people donate too.
