That assumes they've bought gilts. What exactly the captured central banks have really been buying from the retail bankers with their "bond" purchase charade is anyone's guess. Be certain the general population will end up paying the price though, whatever happens.

** I don't think the market jitters are so much about QE withdrawal but more that the realisation it isn't working is setting in.

All this QE stuff, upside down economics, scary sheep, money printing, invisible gilts, ................ is doing my head in

Can't we get back to the collapsing Euro - I understood that :rotfl:

You seem very gloomy today John. Have a virtual glass of wine on me and repeat:

"It could be worse, I could be French"

French as in living in France as opposed to the sensible ones living in 'Le London' :)

That Hollande guy is just terrible. He wants to stamp out tax evasion, to him that is anywhere in the world that is not France. Also funny how the Chinese have threatened to put tariffs on French wine in retaliation for solar Panels, just made me laugh out loud.

So yes I would hate to be French anyway, but being resident in France now would feel like prison.

Fair comment, it's difficult to "happy" about the nonsense being played out by people who aren't affected in any meaningful way by their idiotic actions though, when discussing such things.

I've taken a big chunk of profit from my shares today so it's not all financial doom and gloom :D

How do we really know it has failed?

It may have been a lot worse without QE.;)

If you're a banker or a wealthy home "owner" with a huge mortgage there's little doubt it would have been a whole lot worse.

Perhaps you can explain it to me then.
The pound has fallen in value about 20% against the Euro since the Euro was introduced. So how can people in Britain talk about a collapsing Euro?
(or even think the economy would be better managed by Westminster than Brussels)
