Please stop stating this, as it is not true!
ESA may be claimed from week thirty four* onwards where the claimant does not qualify for SMP or MA. They must still meet the CB/ IB requirements, but late stage pregnancy means they are exempt from the WCA/ they do not need to fulfil the descriptors.
* I said week thirty earlier - ignore, I can't deduct six from forty!0 -
You are so so so so so so so so wrong about me "spitting bile" yet thank you for giving me info re esa.
No problem regarding the ESA information.
However accusing people of not understanding English and telling them to "go back to school" falls broadly into the colloquialism of "spitting bile".
As you can't claim benefits, maybe look at the Up Your Income board? Links to ways of earning extra there.

Going back to school was referenced to two people because instead of answering the question(s), they gave their personal opinion about me. I am the one who opened the post for info and I am getting some not so nice replies, so obviously I feel that some are misunderstanding me- therefore to me,some are not understanding english. That does not mean I am spitting bile.
Thank you re up your income.0 -

I think I get how it came to this. I imagine OP googled 'benefits whilst pregnant' and got to ESA and then read that ESA is a benefit that is supposed to support those clashing back into employment and because she is educated whilst we are not put two and two together. Unfortunately she has failed to read more at this stage and therefore to realise that to claim ESA whilst pregnant you have to be unable to work, or that even if she had been eligible as a single pregnant mother, she wouldn't be because she has a partner with an income. She has failed to understand that ESA is a benefit you can claim for the purpose of looking for work unless you met specific criteria which she doesn't seem to be close to meeting. Very ironic to advise posters to go back to school!0

Anyways, I will talk to a professional advisor who will extend my knowledge of ESA and they will advise whether ESA is of a beneficial aid for me to find work.Back to school was for two posters who posted their opinion of me saying not so nice things - or simply asking me questions when they should have been answering my questions neutrally. Anyways I came on this forum for advice and guidance and information which alot of posters gave. Having to deal with those who were spiting me, was not expected. This is my first post and I am sure that many of you come on this benefits forum regularly and some of you were not nice and then your cages rattled when I responded to your not so nice messages!!! My goal is to do better for myself and family and I will get there and if many have an issue about me claiming benefits, well many of have had benefits when you have been working or not - i really don`t appreciate hypocrites. This particular post is for those who have painted a false picture of me.Addios.0
