Hi Crumpets - glad you managed some time for yourself with the facial - so important to have some me-as-an-adult time!
After having a few broken lunchboxes from my lot I now buy those bags - usually the value ones at £1.99/ 2 for £3 (sometimes) - they can be wiped out daily and I throw them into the washing machine every one or two weeks - they're pretty long lasting, although the value ones aren't pretty!!
well done on lasting so long on the heating - we put ours on for the first time last Friday night and now have it on for an hour in the morning and 2.5 at night.
Yeay re chutney making! I need to do some but cba!

Hi Greent, I'm not sure I know which lunch boxes you mean, where do you get them from? I didn't manage to get her one today so will have a look over the weekend.
Had a nice day today, met my mum in town today and had a mooch around the shops, I finally got some jeans, although I haven't tried them on yet. Does anyone else find it difficult to spend money? I saw lots of lovely things today, some of them that I actually need but just couldn't part with my cashmum also treated us to lunch which was lovely of her :T
I went on my first 30 minute run today :T my last chance training before the race for life tomorrow night. There's a big group of us doing it so should be few giggles along the way.
It's been a beautiful day today, I put my washing out and it was almost dry when I got it in :T we've also not had the heating on today but I have got a fire going this evening. Haven't really got any more money saving news, I'm toying with the idea of starting a blog, I read a lot of blogs for inspiration, I'm just not sure if my life is interesting enough or I have any wisdom to pass on to anyone...something to think about though.
I've decided that I'm going to try and make my dd1 a patchwork quilt for Christmas, not made anything on that scale before though:eek:

They look a bit like this (you can get 'prettier' ones in purple in Sains or ones like Disney etc - but they're obv more): http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=lunch+bag&FORM=HDRSC2#view=detail&id=535765A7CE11926B3C577D7A514F31B81B9E02D8&selectedIndex=231I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £200

Thanks Greent, I know the ones you mean now, dd has had one of those before. I certainly don't want to spend a lot on one:)
Been a nice day so far today, Ds and I took the dog for a nice walk along the country lanes, we delivered my friends eggs and Ds discovered some blackberries still on a bramble. He then had a strop in the road when I wouldn't let him have any more...obviously like all good parents I took photographic evidence of this :rotfl:
I've just taken my first attempt at making a pastry case out of the oven. It's not going to win any beauty contests but I hope it tastes nice. Dd2 has requested pumpkin pie so that will be pudding for tonight. Luckily I had the filling in the freezer :T
I'm hoping to get my 2nd dining chair finished this afternoon after I've been on the school run and then it will be time to make dinner - mini toads for dinner again as they were popular last time we had them.
Tonight I have the race for life, I have no idea if I'll need any money, obviously i'll pay towards parking as I'm getting a lift, I will probably need a drink afterwards but will keep spends to a minimum.
Tomorrow I'm doing a shift in my friends shop in the afternoon so a few more ££ to the op pot. :T I'm not doing very well on eBay this week, no bids or even watchers on most things and only a couple of watchers on the others

Evening, what a busy day today!
This morning Idedicated to put the washing on the line...it's still there as it poured down with rain this afternoon:eek: I also made some cakes with dd2 which will be good for lunches and did some ironing :T
This afternoon I have worked in my friends shop and oh boy was it hectic, no chance for a drink or to go to the loo, I'm shattered now...ah well all money to op with
Mr C took the children to McDonald's for dinner as I wasn't around to lend a hand so he spent £11 there, I had last nights mini toads heated up.
All my eBay items have finished today and 4 things sold, making a grand total of £8.10, I was hoping for a lot better but at least some things have gone. I've relisted the rest of the things at 0.99p, so we'll see how they go.

Hi diary,
Well it's pretty much been raining all day so far today, so I've succumbed and put the heating on again for an hour this morning, it wasn't that cold but I need to get the washing dried! I have clothes hanging everywhere at the moment and bed sheets piled up waiting to be washed:mad: I need to pop and get another clothes horse I think.
Yesterday was a LSD, I had to get a few bits and pieces for the shoe box appeal at school, I just want to get some sweets and then it's good to go. Most of the things in there are things we had at home and my mum donated a few things too, I hope the reciepient is pleased with it. It cost me less than £5 to put together :T
Dd2 had a party to go to yesterday, I'd got the present a few weeks ago from Tkmaxx and I had a card and wrapping paper in so no mad last minute dash to get things brought and wrapped like last year:T
I managed to upgrade my phone yesterday with orange, will cost me slightly more each month but I will finally be in the 21st century and have a smart phone:D
It's been very quiet here this morning, the little ones have been playing nicely and they've allowed me to get on with a few jobs and wrap up my eBay parcel ready to post this afternoon. A while ago my dad gave me a bunch of stuff from my grandads house to sell and in it was a box full of car badges from the 70s, brand new from the factory that he worked in. We've been selling them individually and yesterday a buyer got in touch to say he would be interested in buying them all at the right price. I don't know whether this is a good thing to do or not as I think some of them might be worth a fair bit. I need to discuss this with my dad and do a bit of research.
I've managed to get something on freecycle for the first time in ages, so I will pick that up after the school run. It's a netball post and stand, which will be great for the kids as they get bigger:T
Dh and I really need to get our finances up to date, we're about 2 months behind schedule. We won't get chance until Wednesday though as tonight I have an AGM to attend and tomorrow we have a school open evening as it's dd's last year at first school.
That's it for now I think, that turned into quite an essay:o

Sounds like you have been very productive! I love rainy days when the children play nicely. Mine are all at school and pre school today so I am trying to work, but I'm looking forward to half term next week when they can spend a bit of time at home!

Hi Cotswold Accountant, it is fab when the little ones play nicely, it doesn't happen that often so I have to make the most of it when it does.:D enjoy half term next week.
It'll be my first evening in the house this week and I'm really looking forward to sitting down and watching my housey programmes. I've decided I'm going to bed at 9pm to watch Grand Designs as I've been going to bed far too late recently and it's catching up with me.
I took the little ones to soft play today and it ended up being much more expensive than it should have been. Stupidly I didn't take any spare clothes for the kids with me and dd2 had an enormous wee accident:eek: que me having to drive to Tesco to buy new clothes so that we could stay at soft play. I've learnt my lesson, I wont be leaving the house without spare clothes for everyone in future:o
I desperately need to go shopping tomorrow, I think the kids will be having fresh air in their lunch boxes tomorrow, we're on powdered milk too. I really need to do a big 'stock up the cupboards' shop as well as the normal weekly shop.
We still haven't done our finances yet, we may have to schedule that in for tomorrow night, I also really want to start working on dd1's quilt. I also still have 2 dining chairs to paint and re-cover and I'm working on another little project  I need more hours in the day.
Dinner tonight was Chinese pork using up leftovers with egg fried rice, was delish, thanks to Mr C:T
Speak of the devil. He's just brought me in a cuppa :T
