If you are going to Stoke anyway for Abakhan try http://www.terrysfabrics.co.uk/
Also in Stoke. I like them because they will post you good sized samples for free.
I am also guessing Leicester Market - used to be good but I havent been for a while.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -
Hi there,
There are a few stalls that sell fabric on Leicester Market in both the indoor and outdoor sections; there is also this place http://www.directfabric.co.uk/ which is near to the Lee Circle car park (don't know how well you know Leics but you could always satnav/route plan it).
Not sure about prices as I don't buy fabric myself.

Thank you all,
I've just returned from Milton Keynes and found an offcut of 4.5m for £5 that looks the same as the £45 skirt that I couldn't afford in principles this summer. Now looking forward to making a summer dress for £5 plus concealed zip......£2.75.............Absolute bargain.
Also bought some brown stretch fabric, 2m for £5 to make this seasons shift dress with the pleated neckline. Will try the Soho road as well.
Thank you all.0 -

Even though can sew, I find today you can get very cheap ready made curtains from the likes of TJ Hughes and other Textile shops, Warehouse Outlet, etc. Check out cost of materiala and ruflette taps -v- ready made it may be cheaper to buy.
