Hmmm. Doing it as the 8th and it's still coming up as 86pound. The interzwebz gods are giving me a sign I think. ;)

Shouldn't cost anything if you cancel because you haven't paid anything. Didn't read anywhere about a booking fee. Does have to be on one of the Sundays stated and a lower deck cabin to be free.

Before anyone gets too excited at this offer, it's well worth having a look at the reactions of the people who went on the last free cruise this company offered....

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=272312&page=13

    (Read posts #253 onwards)

That offer was also supposed to be to celebrate the launch of a "new" ship, but it turned out the ship was an old banger with new carpets fitted!

Summary for anyone who can't be bothered to trawl through the thread: extortionate food & drink on board, rude staff, drunken Norwegian passengers, long delays, tiny cabins, compulsory £8 a day to park at the port, and a great deal of sea sickness (although that one was in the middle of winter - rough seas)

The summary you've offered is only of the people who had bad experiences. These people seem to have had bad experiences as a result of expecting too much from a free cruise and mainly bad weather.

There are a number of posts from people who had excellent trips. Don't expect too much, take plenty of your own food and drink and you should be fine.

Not eating, planning on bringing loaves of bread with me. Still coming up as 86 quid though.

Not eating. One thing I will never skank on is food.
  • All sold out except for early ones such as 10 June and 3 June...
No booking fee, just fee for amending details by post (or by phone, can't remember which)

Also, costing is probably because you have chosen a class which isn't free...

Only Seaways (Inside Lower Deck) class is free...any others cost...

Booked and won this last time round and well as the time in Norway was so small and the shops not being open either and the bad reports and costs involved we decided no to go and weren't charged but after seeing the piccies and reports were glad we didn't

Sorry but I felt the overall picture after reading that thread was a rather grim one, and it's certainly not an experience I would enjoy.

Anyway, I would still advise people to read that thread and reach their own conclusions before getting too excited about the cruise.

Please note that post #305 is one big joke and as such should be disregarded (I hope no-one actually believes that the captain gave free bottles of champagne to everyone and the rooms had a 42 inch plasma TV? :rotfl:)
