Hi all
Just catching up with the tail end of yesterday, plus today, before the dogs get their 13:00 biscuit and nip outside for a comfort break (part of their regular routine, which we try to replicate as closely as possible for them).:o
Hilstep GWS mate – hope you don't feel too grotty.
Julie Best of luck for tomorrow – hope it all goes well.
Butterfly Brain *sigh * what are you like!! Not just one foot, but both of them.... that's a feat (sorry, no pun intended) worthy of the Wolf!
Halight good to see you've retained your sense of humour – rag'n'bone men, indeed!:D GWS; we want the latest gen on the twins and the chicks.
JackieO you're 2 inches taller than me, y'know!:D But I think you're quite right to get DGS to get the curtains down for you.
Tenyearstogo best of luck with the presentation – I couldn't do that to save my life!:eek:If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Ten Years To Go I agree with Julie67's idea of the 5 points; also Goldie's suggestion of using a flip-chart and prompt cards is good if you are not familiar with Power Point. If you decide to use a flip chart, pre-write your bullet points onto the second sheet, with a front sheet of your name & the question, and a back sheet of one or two words to sum up each of your conclusions. I tend to begin with putting myself in the shoes of a complete newcomer to the subject, and working out the important facts that must be shared with that person. PM me if you want any help

Am suffering from allotment back at the moment - lots of weeding and also lots of baby plants that need planting out into the big beds, including a whole bath of carrots! I had to get down on my hands & knees on Saturday and give the path a haircut with shears coz the grass was knee high
It looks tons better now
:grouphug: to Halight, Hillstep and any others who would like one - and good luck for anyone who needs it. :wave:0 -
Good afternoon,
Just had a late lunch as my friend came for a cuppa this morning and only went at 1,made a nice change as she doesn't get out much during the week, usually found in her garden instead, but she had an appointment this way.
Julie ,thanks for the Halight update, glad things are going ok after his operation, good luck for yours too.
Hilstep hope you are feeling better, look after yourself.
esmf-nice to see you again.Interesting about France & costs,we are off over there at weekend.Might see if I can squeeze some bits into the suitcase
Butterfly brain- hope the feet are not throbbing as much today. In sympathy cos I fell on the drive this morning,my ankle turned and I went flying on the tarmac, both hands scraped and bleeding, left knee bashed and bleeding, right ankle bl**dy sore!! What with that and a heat rash all over my chest I'm going to look a right sight on my hols next week:rotfl:
OS-finished the last of the weekend beef for my lunch ,tea is salmon from the market, new pots & salad.DGD coming she'll prob have beans on toast.
Right, off to pop DS2s duvet on the line-washing it while he's away.Enjoy the sunshine x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Hello All,
Before I forget, TTFTM I really like the quote you have by Henrik Ibsen.
Late one for me today, I just didn't have the oomph to get going today, so have only been up for an hour  Running low on bread, so instead of buying a loaf I have put the BM on using up stocks already in the store cupboard. Trying really hard to start using up existing stock before buying new in.
Think our fridge may be on the way out, I have a temperature gauge in there which I have started to monitor and I think the temperature is reading higher than it should. Will have a look and see what fridges are out there which will fit in to our budget.
Need to go and do some ironing. I enjoy ironing, especially as I listen to the Laura Ingalls stories that I have on CD Audio books; currently listening to 'These Happy Golden Years'.
Off to the doctors this afternoon, need more medication and only just realised that I need to have a medication review before putting in another repeat, oops.
Take care all, and thinking of Halight and all others who are unwell.

HALIGHT is doing really well, the Drs are pleased with the outcome, he's having an MRI and if all is well they will be taking the drain out of his head this afternoon and he may well be home tonight. Great News.0

Wow beth that's quick after a brain op  But I think that it is much better to rest in your own home than a hospital, they are so noisy even at night.
jools I hope that today isn't too traumatic for you x x
Treated myself to some new egyptian cotton sheets today. I am fed up of buying cheap tat that isn't even cotton, but has a polyester mix
At least hopefully these new ones will last a good few years. Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Hi chums he'll soon be back on here ladies
:)
Well nets washed blown on the line and back up by lunchtime and my sitting room smells lovely of fresh air.DD and I did a bit of whizzing around as she wanted to sort out two of her bank accounts that she knew she had a small amount in but couldn't remember how much (it was pretty small but every little helps as they say )Also went to the tip with clapped out strimmer and a pile of cardbord boxes so my conservatory is nice and clear now.All the washing is dry as well which is a bonus.DD mad a lovely salady sort of lunch of odds and ends from the fridge so I shan't need a big dinner tonight.
We watched the elizabethan time travellers programme this afternoon I'm jolly glad I didn't live in those times
Now I am going to have a sit down and put my feet up and listen to the wirless while I do some knitting.
Have a good evening everyone whatever you are doing .bright and sunny here in north Kent but a brisk wind blowing which has kept the temps down to around 15-16 c
Cheers chums

BB thank you, funeral was very emotional, his poor wife was almost carried in and out of the crematorium, she was in such a state, bless her!
I have weeded half the big flower bed, covered the paths and driveway in weed killer, and dried 2 loads of washing. It has been boiling here today, I had to come in cos I could feel myself burning.
Great news that Halight is doing so well, we are still waiting to hear how MIL's sister's op has gone, she was due to go to theatre at 9.30 today, keeping everything crossed as she was massively confused yesterday!RIP Iain
