Morning all, been MIA for last few months, but still trying to save. Just back from a lovely week self catering in France. Didn't realise how expensive it is to live over there. Spent a small fortune no doubt. Need to conserve it now so I have a supply for summer holidays.
Have done freezer stock list and can manufacture most of the meals from there for the month. Veggies growing nicely in the garden, but can't be harvested yet.
What's happened to Halight? And Hester? Hope all ok with them. Sunny weather here means I wil be in the garden or doing nice things with lots of windows open. Is this our summer?!Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx
March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.0 -
julie Thank you. I haven't decided how to present yet. There's no brief aside from the subject, which is the role X now and in five years time. I'm seeing the interviewers today so I'll establish what tools are available.
I've never used PP as I don't do ever do presentations. I can use word so I don't think PP would be beyond me but I can't decide if I need to stress about that too!
I'm off work Wednesday and Thursday so if I can collate info and structure the presentation on Wednesday, I cam decide on format on Thursday.0 -
Great news the Halight is on the mend and Hugs to those who aren't feeling up to the mark.
Another gorgeous day here in Kent and my DGS is coming this morning to finish off what I started in the garden yesterday.I shall pick him up with their lawn mower and he will run it over what I have already managed to hack down before my strimmer started it started to play up and smoke
:) I have a small wash to go into the machine this morning ,I want to make the most of the good weather.I wll get DGS Ben to take my nets down as they are in need of a quick wash, and he is taller and more agile when it comes to climbing on chairs I live in an old property and have 8'6" high ceilings which means if a bulb needs changing or curtains have to come down i have to ask one of my taller family to do it as I'm only 5'4" and not very stable on chairs.Falling off of them isn't a good plan at my age either
:):)I may be built like a weeble but I certainly don't bounce like one
:)
Ben's a good lad though, and is off this week for study leave and is happy for the price of a bacon sarnie or two to help his Gran out bless him.Very handy having tall grand sons I think they take after my late OH as he was six foot plus:)
Right time for some coffee and toast I think.Back to normal tomorrow as DD will be back to work after her break so no more pottering around first thing It will be up and out at 07.45.a.m.
Have a good day everyone what ever you are doing

Morning all.
It was quite sunny earlier, but it seems to have disappeared behind a cloud.
I was please to see that Halight is doing well. hilstep hope you feel better soon
ten years I used to hate presentations too. Maybe you'll be able to use a flip chart as a visual aid, to save the added stress of using a computer. I always thought that it was better for the audience to have something to look at, instead of having them look at me. I used to use prompt cards with bullet points on for the important parts of the presentation, to help remind me what I needed to say.
Today I intend to finish off the weekly housework, and also do a bit of work in the garden.
Tomorrow we are going out for the day. We are going on a coach trip to Camden Market and a cruise on the Regents Canal. I think the weather is going to be ok, so should make a change.
Have a good day all.

Julie thanks for the update on halight, glad they have got his pain relief sorted. Also good luck to yourself for tomorrow, think about how much better you are going to be afterwards.
Temperatures are starting to rise this week and it looks as if we are having a really summery week ahead, just a pity I am stuck in the office. :mad:0 -
Hi,
Haven't been on here lately as I never seem to get to the computer till late at night when everyone has gone to bed.
Couldn't go without offering good wishes to all who are waiting to into hospital.
Halight: Lay in that bed much longer and there will be a queue of eager MSE ladies trying to get in with you!
Joking apart, all the best my dear, you are a brave man.

ten years, goldies idea of cards is a great one. It doesn't matter how you present, just feel comfortable with what your doing and confident in what your saying and you will be fab.
I regularly interviewed people who had to give presentations. I was always much more impressed by the content than the singing and dancing around it if you know what I mean! Good luck xStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.
