Tv aerial after leaving Virgin.

I cancelled my Tivo service, and bought a freeview box to connect to my aerial. The problem is, I can't find the tv aerial that should be there. Behind the box that Virgin installed is a cable which was connected to their service; and still is, as it connects my broadband as well.

The same situation in the bedroom where they connected another box. I know there where/are tv aerial points, but can't figure out what has happened to them.

Anyone help?

P.s - I have tried contacting them, but after half-hour of trying, getting cut-off, reaching dead-ends, or getting lost in the 'system', I gave up. They're not the easiest folk to contact.

Who are 'them'? Virgin won't know whether you have a TV aerial or not, as the householder that job is down to you.
You are looking for something like this:-

    Them are Virgin.

I can't look on the roof, it isn't accesible or visible as it is a high building. However, the management company for my block confirmed that there are aerial points, and I would have to contact Virgin for them to undo whatever they did.

As for the socket, I know what one looks like. My point is, this was replaced with a box by virgin. I would have thought that was where the main aerial feed came from. It isn't there.

It left me confused, as I thought, that socket would have been seperate, or otherwise housed behind the same enclosure the Virgin engineer installed.

Anyway, I'm sure I'll sort it out. Thanks for trying. I thought perhaps other members had had a similar problem.

Whay not ask a neighbour whether they have aerial points, I guess the flats have similar layouts.

As you are no longer a TV customer of Virgin, I think you'd have a hard time getting them to "uninstall" plugs and sockets they may have installed in order for you to get their services.

You need to be employing an aerial fitter to get Freeview working again, not Virgin.

I suspect you may be right. It's a case that whoever I speak to at the minute knows nothing, and just passes me onto someone else. In honesty, I have had issues with all services/utilities since I moved in. Nobody seems to know where anything is!!

The bills manage to arrive on my doorstep though.

Sorry, just ranting now. Thanks for your help.

i've never heard of virgin replacing an aerial socket with thier own box.
they would have no reason to, and would make no sense for them to do so

I've seen Virgin (and Sky) use the entry point of aerials to save having to drill another hole.
I'd say this was very common, the installers are under pressure to quickly finish as many jobs as possible in the shortest amount of time.

Unscrew the white plastic VM cover you may find your TV cable disconnected behind
    Good advice.
