I've tried water, lion dung and a spray.
To be honest, I'm sick of wasting money on other peoples pets.

Cat owners are the absolute worst.
They bang on about loving their pet .... that they kick out the door and let roam the streets for days on end and destroying peoples property.

I think I will make something up with nails and pins sticking out, that should do the job.

Not all us cat owners are like that!!!!
I love my 2 furrbabies & they get treated like royalty in our house!
They never get booted out to "roam the streets", they only go out when THEY want to. And they hardly ever see them leave our garden as they like to be close to home.
I sometimes think ours are posh cats cos at times they scrat on the door to come in when they've been out, go in the litter tray, then wanna go back outside! :rotfl:
I treat our cats with respect & they respect me back, as daft as that sounds. I know crapping in other ppls gardens can be annoying, as we have sometimes caught others doing it in ours. But not all owners are the same & those of us that do look after them correctly are aware of cat-haters & would be very alarmed if anything like pins, nails etc were used to deter them from your garden.
Sorry if this offends you, but not every cat owner should be tarnished with the same brush!

Guess my mog must be posh too, he used to do the same before he became an indoor puss :rotfl:

Mind you, even when he did go outside, I'm fairly sure he only crapped on my lawn. He never strayed from my garden, always curled up out there.

BTW, lovely mog in your avatar :)

You realise the RSPCA have no more power than you and I right?

Correct, however anyone can bring a private prosecution. Its just the RSPCA have the resources to do so effectively compared to a private citizen

    Ours do this!

And so much for the phrase about a cat never ****ing on its home patch, since getting our veg plot ready again I've watched both of ours happily going all over it before going out on their adventures.

Hahaha I have a cat, nicknamed ASBO cat. I can just imagine him having a game of total wipeout in your garden!

I think the problem isn't always the cat but the thoughtless owners who think it's funny that their pet is annoying and making a mess in a neighbours garden.

I was thinking of getting some drawing pins and glueing them on the fence but was wondering if there is anything better ?

I am surprised no one has mentioned using citrus smells. Cats HATE citrus, orange or lemon or lime will work. All you need is some citrus oil, can be bought for a couple of pounds and you just wipe it along the fencing. Cats will leave you alone.

Also, I have a beautiful kitty who has been trained to poop in her litter loo, I have also told my neighbours that if she ever leaves her poop in their gardens I will clean it up. Never had issues with neighbours over my girl.

Please don't put spikes up. There may be ferrel cats getting in who would get hurt and then possible infections which would lead to a slow and painful death. I know it's frustrating for you but please think of the consequences.

  • OP, I hope you're not being serious. If you are, and you injure anyone's cat, I hope you get prosecuted. And no, I'm not a 'cat person', I have two dogs, but I always judge people by how they treat animals and children.

Excuse me have you read the whole thread?? that was a lighthearted response to a humorous thread!

I am NOT thoughtless and I do not let my cat make a mess in my neighbours garden.

I provide litter trays and cat flaps and they always use them.

My cat is nicknamed that because he has personality and is funny, it's nothing to do with causing trouble.

I am sure the OP was in the same spirits I was about the post and if you read the whole thread you will see I also stated if I thought my cat was annoying my neighbours I'd be helping to find a solution.

I am not thoughtless so keep your bloody opinions to yourself!

That is why cat owners wear old rubber gloves when cleaning the litter tray. Dog crap can also carry it. Common sense, and not all cat's carry it either. So just wear rubber gloves if you are worried in your garden

Why should my family have to wear gloves to protect us against some dirty animal?

Fortunately, we have no cats in our garden.

Sheesh, we work hard to live in a lovely house with a garden that my daughter (and baby) love to be in. I will not risk them and will take ALL measures to stop any cats fouling our land if any do pitch up.
