God you would love to live next to me Stuart I have 7 cats lmao
They do go outside do they mess in other peoples gardens I have no idea. They have 3 trays in the house which are cleaned out every day.
As others have said a cat cannot be trained so you can't make them go in one place like a dog.
I hope that if you do decide to go ahead with putting anything on your fence that could harm a cat that the owners track you down and present you with any vet bills that they may incur.First Date 08/11/2008, Moved In Together 01/06/2009, Engaged 01/01/10, Wedding Day 27/04/2013, Baby Moshie due 29/06/2019 :T0 -
I am still laughing at this thread. I think the OP original post is a genuine frustration, but most of it was light hearted!
I'm a cat owner and would be mortified if my neighbour was !!!!ed off my cat pooped all over his garden.
I'd be helping find ways to stop them.
I think the OP is quite funny really. I'm sure he wouldn't hurt them0 -
A cat local to us has been using our garden as his loo. Not happy as my small children like to dig about in the chipped bark area - I don't want their health at risk, and don't see why they should have to wear gloves?
Anyway, that aside, I bought some cat and dog repellent spray from wilkinsons. It smells quite garlicky and it seems this cat is not a fan, and although I've seen him in the garden, he never stays long and I haven't found any little "mounds" since I treated the whole area.
Be warned though, use it just before you are due a shower - all I could smell for the rest of the day was garlic (and not in a good way :rotfl:)Bossymoo

Prikka strip on the top of the fence worked in our last house, it stopped the cays sharpening their claws on the top of it as well. I had some success with one of those ultra sonic cat scorers too, but one cat would walk up the garden path shaking its head, and it did get expensive on batteries. Getting a dog worked better, but it may be a bit extreme.Good enough is good enough, and I am more than good enough!:j
If all else fails, remember, keep calm and hug a spaniel!0 -

That way you couldn't be accused of trying to injure the cat but you'd also make it much harder for them to climb over.
I'm a cat lover but that made me :rotfl:
OP could probably get some quality YouTube clips out of that, as a bonus0 -
Or make some money sending them to you've been framed!0

You're starting to sound a bit hysterical, Stuart. I hope you don't live anywhere near me. I'd beat you to death with your nail in wood contraption if you hurt either of my cats (who go out but use a litter tray in the house).
Ailurophobes rarely understand cats. You can't train a cat like you can a dog. Do you intend to shoot the birds who might !!!! in your garden as well? What about foxes?
There's a lamp post at the top of our drive and every dog who passes (on a lead) stops for a sniff and about 50% of those have a !!!! there too. The dog owners, almost to a man, wait for the dog to do it's business, look around to see if anyone is watching, if there are people about they will bag the doings and take with with them. If nobody is in evidence they leave the !!!!!! there. They can't see me watching out of my living room window.
Often my husband will find little bagged-up dog poos when he strims the verge.
At least my cats !!!! in a tray. Do you always pick up your dog's doings? I'd bet next week's wages that you don't.
Excellent post. And may I say that 'stuart' has now lost the argument, by calling Chrissie72 'deranged.' I think he would do well to bow out of the thread now, before he makes an even bigger fool of himself.0
