cat poop scooping

Looks like the litter locker is good then, I may just wait until the few that are left on amazon are sold, just in case I cannot get hold of the refills if it's discontinued, tbh if I had a downstairs loo I would be tempted to teach them how to use the loo themselves :rotfl::hello: Hiya, I'm single mom, avid moneysaver and freecycler, sometimes  but definatly0

I used to just scoop the poop into tissue and flush it down the loo. The smell from cat poop hanging around in bins, bags and lockers must be horrendous _pale_Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0

You can get cartridges for the litter locker much cheaper if you take the ones for the baby / nappy version - try looking under Angelcare
Also you can get just the plastic bit and use one of your own cartridges (once you have one!) - again a fair bit cheaper than the actual cartridges
I also think it depends on the type of litter you use whether it's cost effective or not - I used the cartridges when I was using wood litter and I was going through cartridges really quickly
Now I use clumping, it would certainly be a lot cheaper!Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

And the refill for the casettes:

In my post above - link to refil which works much cheaper then buying the original casettes.
Note, the refill is just the foil bag, you need an empty casette to fill in with the refil so do not throw away old ones - if you get it.0 -

There is no smell with the litter locker.
And it is very bad to put cat poo/litter in the loo - even the flushable ones.0 -
Those litter locker/champ mentioned above sound really good actually!
At the moment, we just put the poop etc into a small white bin bag (you know the ones for like small bins, 100 on a role, value range, so really cheap!), and then put it straight out into the outside bin. On the odd occasions we've been rushing out, you could sometimes smell it when coming back in, as even with the bag tied, it still festers (where's the gagging smiley?), so those litter lockers/champs sound a good idea for someone in your position who can't just pop out of the back door to pop it in the wheely bin!0 -
Does anyone know if there are any cheaper refills for the litter champ?0

I use the litter champ, I looked at both on zooplus and went with the champ because it was cheaper to buy, and the refills were cheaper. With one cat I don't use much refill wise. Just on my third in about a year & 3 months use. I use proper flushable litter so tend to flush the poops, and litter champ the pees. I also preferred the foot pedal at the bottom.
The 3 pack for champs is now £9.49 on zooplus, but depending on order size/postage etc. I usually throw in a refill when i order other stuff.0 -

I've never put litter in the loo, only poo.
It is very bad to put poo in the loo? Really? Doesn't cat poo break down the same as human poo?Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
We use oko plus litter and both poo and litter (the bits soaked with wee) gets flushed down the toilet. 3 years and no problems. I always flush a few times while scooping so no big lumps go down all together. I've read around this issue and haven't found any definitive reasons why I shouldn't do this - would be interested to read anything more about it that people have found.
Also, even when we go away for a night and there's more poo than usual in the tray, the tray never smells, must be the food we use. Only very occasionally does one of our cats lay a real stinker in there for us. What a treat!0
