Why set yourself up for a fall? Sometimes these things happen and yes they have happened to me too, but if I really liked someone and they made an impression on me, Id at least remember their name

My personal opinion, is that if I saw an advert in a newspaper that was directed at me, it would freak me out, I wouldn't feel comfortable with it, and would just ignore it, I'm sorry, buts that's just my honest opinion.

if you know the language school that she is teaching at, then leave a note at the school. If she is a teacher of TEFL then there are not THAT many around, so why not try that route. I think this is a lovely thread, good luck OP.

Tbh I wouldn't do anything. She might just be the type of person who is friendly and chatty to anyone - if she was interested in anything more then I can't help thinking she would have given you her contact details at the time.
You had a short chat with her and can't even remember her name, are you maybe making it into a bit more than it was?
Even if you did track her down and she was interested and didn't find it odd (and I must admit if it was me I would find it a little too full on) then if she lives in this city 80 miles away that you hardly ever go to then is that the best start for a relationship?

If you're really set on it though I would go with trying through the coffee shop and hope she's a regular there.

That name is in there somewhere - you could try a hypnotist. Seriously, that would work. Or revisit the cafe with a book of names - being in situ might ring a bell.

'Missed connection', that's a strange expression to use. You missed the boat, had a nice chat, said goodbye, and that was that. Like looking for a needle in a haystack. If fate is on your side you might bump into her again, if not, keep your eyes and ears open and look for someone else. And don't be so slow next time. If you fancy someone ask for a date pretty sharpish.
