Hello everyone. Welcome to the Weekly Spend Challenge. This challenge is open to anybody, no matter what financial place they are in.

On this thread please post an amount of money you wish to stay below within the week (Sunday to end of working day on Friday). This can be pennies or thousands it depends on the individual. Then next Saturday report back and pledge for the following week. The challenge runs from Sunday to Friday so we don't include Saturdays but feel free to change the rules to suit you and include Saturdays or start on a different day.

Feel free to update this thread with daily spends if that keeps you on track. We colour code the results as below:

Green - within budget
Red - over budget
Purple - zero spend
Orange - made money over the week

This is a little bit of fun but for many it highlights the fact that maybe that magazine/chocolate bar isn't needed. Hopefully your spending habits can be changed forever.

Moozie was the founder of this challenge and here is a quote taken from her:

The challenge is about incidental spending and not for stuff that should be budgeted elsewhere such as bills, groceries, debt repayment etc but you decide what to include at the end - this is about changing your habits and improving your recording of your spends more than anything else. Have a great week everyone and keep it low!!! Moozie x"

Good Luck Everyone

Well it's a bit quiet over here this week.

I'm setting £50 for the week. We have a few visitors planned so will need some treats and maybe meeting a friend for coffee later in the week. Shouldn't need petrol as hardly using any at the mo. Its just whether I get caught out with groceries.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Thanks for the new thread ETO :A

Well, I blew the budget yesterday and ended up nice and red - £77.34 / £45

I have a few planned spends this week. I need to get petrol and groceries and have a busy weekend. Leaving do for a work colleague on Friday and Ruby wedding anniversary party on Saturday. I'm splitting the cost of the anniversay present with my sisters and taking the car on Friday to keep costs down. I have to say, this month is already looking to be very sociable and I'll really need to try hard to stay in budget.

So, target for this week is £120 - determined to stay green :)

ETO, if it wasn't for this thread, I know it would be much worse so thanks again for keeping it going :T

    Hey All,

Can I join? After a long absence - am trying to get back on track again. It's helpful for me to include groceries so I don't madly overspend.

This week my 'Spend Challenge' is £25.00 (Food £15 + Spends £10)

    Good luck everyone!

Last week was appalling ended up about £70/£20 - damn cute babies lol!

This week I'm going for my normal £20 with the hopes I will spend much less!! I'm on a course today and completely forgot I would need to take lunch, but going to try and go for a Boots meal deal and see if I can put it on my Advantage card!! If I can't, that should be my only spend today!

The rest of the week I technically have nothing planned...so hopefully I can pull of a few NSD's over the week :)
