Weekly Spend Challenge W/C 2nd June 2013

Well last week really didn't go well. £5 budget & I ended up spending £40!! £40/£5.
This week is a much more achievable £50 with my only plans being a birthday BBQ at a friend's house on Saturday. If the weather stays nice then that should be a cheap enough day.Post Office Credit Card [STRIKE]£5817.98[/STRIKE] £5133.32

Hello all.
You all seem to have much lower budgets than I do, eek!
I'm trying to spend no more than £80 a week on food, fun, clothes etc. My week runs from Saturday to Friday and I know you run from Sunday but hope you don't mind.
Shopping this wk cost me £65 and we spent £15 on a day at the seaside this weekend. Making me £80/£80
However, I have to buy cakes for everyone at work on Thursday as it's my birthday (well I don't have to as such but I always celebrate other people's birthdays, I feel I should return the favour) so I'm going to go bust in my first week :eek:0 -

ETO, if it wasn't for this thread, I know it would be much worse so thanks again for keeping it going :T
You're welcome.
And it keeps me focused too, so even if no one else joined me I'd probably just keep running and posting on this thread so it would become a diary for me.it really helps me keep my eye on the ball, and even if I'm red I can see where and why and adjust budgets if needed or give myself a telling off. But I really try and have realistic budgets in the first place otherwise I'd never make it.

Can I join? After a long absence - am trying to get back on track again. It's helpful for me to include groceries so I don't madly overspend.
This week my 'Spend Challenge' is £25.00 (Food £15 + Spends £10)
Good luck everyone!
Welcome back abundant. I did wonder where you'd gone but thought maybe real life had got in the way. Good to have you back and good luck. Hope you are well.CariadsDream wrote: »HI CAN I JOIN IN PLEASE LOOKS A FAB LIL THREAD... can i go for£10.00 for my personal spends and £15 from groceries. until next saturday x
Welcome CariadsDream.
Good luck with the challenge.
I've put you down for the £25 rather than the £10 for spends. Is that ok?his_missus wrote: »Hello all.

Everyone has budgets to suit them and we also include different things. So don't worry if your is different, more or less than others on here.
It really is for you to find a system that works for you. I include general misc spends, petrol and a weekly top up grocery spend. However the original challenge was for misc spends only. I know if I'm not strict with specific budgets then I would add misc spends to my grocery budget and cheat. My budget is also low as my petrol spends have reduced due to being on maternity leave.SPC 18 Target £200 /0 -

Monday: £42.81 "big shop". I had a £7.50 off a £50 shop for sainsbobs so made my list last night (and stuck to it!) and got lots of things that will keep.0

So far
Sun - NSD :j
Mon - NSD :j
Feeling bad though as hubby keeps being sent to the shops for odds and sods as its easier for him than me at the mo. so I might put some money in his savings pot tomorrow to make up for it. So will include that as spends.SPC 18 Target £200 /0 -
