We had some offers on our account that had come to an end, we have tv, broadband, and talk with sky, so I phoned up to see what could be done to bring the price down, another offer or lose channels, as our monthly bill had near doubled. But was told nothing could be done to bring it anywhere near to what we were paying a month ago and it was actually advised that I could cancel...so I did....gave 31 days notice on all services!
We're not so bothered about the tv as we have a tv with built in freeview and freesat hd decoders, but wondered if anyone had recommendations on the best deals for telephone with line rental and broadband?
When I cancelled I was advised it would be easier to start elsewhere with a new number....don't know if that effects things or not, but I do get the feeling that the agent I spoke to was in a rush as I'm sure just cancelling the hd tv package we were on should have near halved our monthly bill.
Thanks

Just had them on the phone, offered me 50% off any tv package for 12 months but not on the HD add on and nothing on broadband and talk, so still a lot more than we have been paying for the last 6 months..........they are going to call back tomorrow morning..... I think someone wanted to go home as it was a couple of minutes before 9pm :rotfl:0 -
Any offer is subject to the limits prevailing at the time of offer - it could change after the 1st/month as this will be a new promo period.0

It took them five days from me cancelling my Sky World HD package at the end of April to ring me with a half price offer for the next 12 months. And that's after three years on other special offers."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0

Well got another call this afternoon, not this morning as promised, and after a long conversation of no's I finally agreed to stay with the following offer - sky tv free for 6 months, sky unlimited broadband free for 6 months, full price on the hd channels and sky talk line rental and all inclusive calls. This now brings my monthly bill to £29.75
Can cancel at anytime giving 31 days notice.

This is the reason it seems so random, if they wanted to stop all "churn" then every leaver would be offered incentives to stay. They want quality customers with a return on their investment.

Wow! Have you got a recording of this? Normally you are signing up to another 12 months when you accept one of their offers.0
