Cancelling my Gym membership - what are my rights?

3) Missing carrier bags and water bottle are not trivial bits!If this is happening to these items, then why not to the rest of the missing items? (my jacket and magazines?) It is not the housekeeping decision to make! If they decide to throw away magazine, who is not to say they havent decided to throw away the jacket?
Seriously, forget about the water bottle and the carrier bags, they just make you look petty.Competition wins: Where's Wally Goody Bag, Club badge branded football, Nivea for Men Goody Bag0 -
Seems to me people dont read what I write!
I wrote it was okay to use the lockers overnight previously but this changed when I joined!
And I am sure if you had a new jacket that you hardly worn stolen, without any apology even! you wouldnt be sitting on the other side of the computer taking the clubs side!
I go to the gym 6 days a week,sometimes twice a day
I expect to have use of a locker while I'm there
when im not its free for other members. despite my buying a padlock(as you seem hung up on that)
If I left stuff there I wold be thinking myself lucky If I got them back0 -
Like I stated before, the gym ALLOWED overnight usage of the lockers when it first opened in January 2012! If they changed this policy, they HAVE to inform new members that they are not allowed to leave stuff in the lockers overnight. Or at least have a sign somewhere in the changing rooms to state this! Otherwise how would I know?
There is nothing in their T&C's to state otherwise.
In regards to the missing items, of course the most important is the new jacket, however the rest (carrier bags, bottle and magazines) are just an addition and it goes to show that it is not just the one item they have "misplaced". However, I will still argue my case that they had NO right to dispose them. They are breaking into a LOCKED locker, therefore have a duty of care to transfer ALL items into a bag, and put them somewhere safe - this is stated in their policy, and they will keep the items for 6 months until someone shows up to claim them.
Everyone on here is so hung up onto the stupid carrier bags and bottle - I only mentioned them to prove it is not just 1 item gone.
I listed all the other reasons why I dont believe I have to pay them a penny.
One thing is when I forget something in the changing rooms and I have no proof whether another member just took it or anyone else (its like leaving your wallet in the middle of a street), but another thing is when they break into my locked locker, take whatever they like, document as "clothes" , offer no apology (at least for the inconvenience!) and demand payment for May, then even state I am already in arrears for June! Ridiculous!
By the way, I emphasized on the fact that I do not have a problem with them breaking into the locker and emptying them so others can use, but in doing this, they have a duty of care to keep my items safe for those 6 months as stated in their policy!0 -

Lol.So if i need a locker I simply have to wait on someone coming along and breaking in for me?
Like I said,common sense0 -

So how would I, as a member ever know that they have more members now than lockers in the changing rooms?
Common sense too to tell me.
Again, from the last post that is not my argument. The main argument is why are things going missing?
Like I state no problem them doing this procedure if its in their policy, but why are things going missing?
I have lost my jacket, paid out of my own pocket to replace it, and now they want me to pay for May, for this service, for their mistakes ?0 -

doubt I have ever been in a gym that has 1:1 lockers
simple idea. If you aren't allocated a personal locker, then leave it empty0 -
